The next morning I couldn't bring myself to stare in the mirror. I felt like a sell out, like I didn't deserve my fans anymore. Before I could say I was completely genuine and now I didn't know who I was. After showering I brushed my hair out and went into the kitchen where the girls sat at our small table.
"Are we going to talk about it?" I mumble as I sit down. I felt even worse with the girls, they didn't even talk after I agreed. The car ride home was silent as I stared out the window wondering if I made a mistake. We got home and went straight to the balcony, our designated 'i want to be alone' spot.
"You didn't have to do it for us." Olive starts the sympathy clear on her face.
"I know but we need this! This could be so good for us."
"That's not a good reason dude. We need you to be happy." Giz adds.
"I am, I did the right thing."
"Are you convincing us or you?" Fitz says, almost reading my mind.
"It's done okay, I signed the contract. I can't tell anyone the truth besides the people in that room and I can't back out." I say shaking my head.
"What about Peters." Giz mumbles.
"Peters is just a friend, and it's not like I have to tell anyone yet, it's barely starting out. I don't even know when they're going to make us announce it." I mumble.
"This doesn't feel right." Olive says, shaking her head.
"It is. I promise. Anything to get to the top."
"Have you talked to Zion yet." Fitz asks, her head in her hands.
"And say what 'hey so glad we're fake dating.'" Giz replies, rolling her eyes.
"Well I don't know, they're going to have to talk sometime." Fitz says defending herself.
"She is but it's too soon." Giz says back.
"Look her whole reputation now coincides with his, she's going to have to and soon." Fitz replies.
"Look just wait for him to reach out, he'll have to." Olive says ending the conversation.
It took three days for me to finally give in and text him first.
"How many 'y's' do I put in?"
"2 max."
"2?! no wonder you're single."
"I'm single cuz I want to be."
"Put 4."
"Bitch 4?! I'm not thirsty either."
"Say 'hi' instead."
"Dude that's gonna make her seem even more boring."
"Guys focus!"
"I vote 'hey' with three y's"
"Fine okay."
"We have a majority, send it."
"I'm nervous."
"Juno send the goddamn text already, I'm gonna piss myself."
"I have never heard Olive yell and curse in the same sentence." Giz mumbles.
"I'm kinda scared." Fitz jokes back.
"I sent it." I say, staring at my phone. "How long do you think it'll take?"
"I give it a few hours." Fitz replies.
"Or minutes." Giz laughs when my phone dings.
"What does it say?" Olive asks.
"'hi' and I thought I was going to be the boring one." I groan.
