Eden's POV

Watching the TV, I heard my phone buzz. It was my best, and only, friend, Olivia. I had met her my first day in this pack. She was the only one willing to be nice to me.

She had texted me about a party this weekend.

Olivia:
come on. you have to come! it's the alpha's sons birthday

Me:
I'm not really in the party mood plus no one actually likes me

Olivia:
I do and don't think I didn't see you walking with Charlie today. I'm sure he would want you there

Me:
I doubt he even remembers my name

Olivia:
he asked me to invite you so you have to come

Me:
fine I'll come

Olivia:
yay! I'll be over on Friday

That's weird. Why did he want me to come to his birthday party? Before today we had never spoken to each other.

I had felt dizzy after he had left but I had assumed it was from the fall. And why did he look at me like that? With such interest and concern.

It was Friday and all week I had been feeling anxious about the party.  It was like I was excited yet nervous to see him. But why? How had only one conversation with Charlie made me feel like this. Like I didn't want to be apart from him.

"Hello? Earth to Eden" I heard Olivia say. I hadn't even realized she had come into my room.

"Sorry. I just kind of got lost in thought."

"Well, snap out of it. We have a party to get ready for" she replied with a smile.

I always wondered why Olivia had chosen me as a friend. I mean she was gorgeous, incredibly smart and charming. She had long wavy black hair that seemed to bounce as she walked. Her eyes were a piercing green and her full lips complemented her face well.  She was fairly tall with olive skin. Most guys fawned over but she never gave anyone much attention.

Olivia had just finished curling my brunette hair into beach waves.  We had already done our makeup. I had silver glitter liner going a little over my crease with voluminous fake lashes on and a glittery gloss on. Olivia went with a smokey purple eyeshadow look that made her eyes stand out.

Next was the hardest part. Choosing what to wear. Having only been here for a year, I had never been to a party at the Alpha's house but I had heard stories. They were always catered with delicious food, decorated with lights all over and shiny streamers.  It was the talk of the town and the event of the season whenever they threw a party.

The Alpha and Luna were away on some business so Charlie's 25th was going to be insane. This made choosing the perfect dress extremely difficult.

By the end of it, most of my closet was on my bedroom floor. Olivia had picked a black, skin-tight dress with black heels.  I had chose a pink satin dress that reached to my mid-thighs. I paired it with glittery heels.

Looking in the mirror, we both smiled but mine was masking how nervous I was.

"Let's go" she said as she grabbed my hand.
