Eden's POV

Wearing a black skirt with black, cowl neck satin top, I slipped on my black heels.  I stood up and grabbed my pair of studded silver hoops and looked in the mirror while putting them on. I finished of my look of a simple makeup look with clear gloss. I had curled my wavy hair earlier and now I was ready.

Well, physically.

In reality, my heart was pounding. My hands were shaking so bad that I could barely put on my eyeliner earlier.

I still had to take things slow as my rib was still healing but for the most part I was better. In the two weeks since the attack, my bruises had mostly faded and Ashley, Zach, and Jeremy had been exiled from the pack. The pack council had determined that was their punishment for attacking me. Since I'm a human they didn't use their normal punishment for attacking a pack member, execution. I'm just glad they're gone. Don't get me wrong. Not everyone was pleased with their decision. Some thought they should have been given no punishment at all.

"Eden! Charlie's here!" I heard my mom yell, taking me out of my thoughts.

I looked in the mirror one last time and left my room.

"Wow, you look amazing" Charlie said as stood by the door saying hi to Wilson. I walked up to him, "thank you" I replied, a blush creeping onto my face.

"Have her back by 11" my mom said to Charlie. She looked at me with concern, "and you, try to have some fun and be safe. I love you."

"Love you, too" I said and kissed her on the cheek. I said bye to Wilson and walked out of the door with Charlie.

He walked ahead of me and opened up the passenger side door of his car for me. "Thank you" I said as I got in.

He walked around the car and got in. As he started to drive I finally took in what he was wearing. His blonde hair was slightly ruffled, like he purposely styled it that way. He was wearing a really nice watch that I'm sure I could never afford..He also had on black pants with black dress shoes and crisp, white button-up long sleeve shirt on. He looked so good.

Taking my mind off of his appearance, "are you going to tell me where we're going?"

"I told you. It's a surprise" he replied as looked over at me with a grin.

We had left the pack territory and were headed to mainly human areas. I hadn't left since I had arrived at Black Rose Pack that it was weird seeing human places again. He started to slow down and pulled into a parking lot of a restaurant.

He once again opened my car door for me and once we went in we were seated at a table.  I had never been here before but I liked it. It had dim lighting with nicely cushioned chairs. There were large chandeliers and plants around the restaurant.  The tables had white peonies on them in clear vases.  Looking around, I realized that no one was a werewolf.

"A human restaurant?" I asked. Most werewolves don't like to mingle with humans.

"Yeah. My parents used to sometimes take me here when I was a kid. They liked that no one knew who they were."

A server walked up to the table, "Hi. I'm Eric and I'll be your server tonight. What drinks can I start you two off with?"

"I'll take a whiskey neat." Charlie responded.

"And what will you have miss?"

"A white wine, thank you."

"Of course, I'll be right back with those."

We ate and talked about almost everything. Our childhoods, what we like and dislike. Our lives.

"Charlie! Charlie, my boy!" We both looked over and Charlie got up with a smile and hugged the man approaching us. "John! How are you?"

"Better now that you're here! I haven't seen you in so long. But I guess your father has been keeping you busy."

"Yes, sir." Charlie looked towards me.  "John, this is Eden."

"Eden. Lovely to meet you" He said as he shook my hand.

"Same to you" I replied.

"Well I'll let you two enjoy your food. Let me know if you need anything. Eden, keep this one in line." He said and left with a smile.

Charlie sat back down. "That's the owner, John. I've known him practically my whole life."

We finished our meal and left. Charlie said he wanted to take me somewhere else. We drove for awhile and finally stopped on a dark area off of the road.

"Where are we?" I said while I grabbed his hand as I got out of the car.

"You'll see."

We walked a little and there was a short stone wall lining the cliff.

"Look up."

I did. It was amazing, like a dream. It was like every star was visible. A million glowing and bright dots covering the sky.

"Wow. It's beautiful."

"Not more beautiful than you."

I giggled a little, "what a line, Charlie."

"Yeah but it's not really a line if it's true." He smiled at me and looked thoughtfully.  "So, how's your mom and you adjusting? Moving to a pack of werewolves must be difficult."

"Yeah. It is. I mean almost everyone stares at me when I do the simplest things. I could be just taking a walk and people give me dirty looks and whisper to each other.  I don't know if I'll ever feel that I belong. But Olivia has made it easier..." I looked into his eyes. He was staring at me intently, hanging on to my every word. "And you. You've made it easier. You've been there for me and protected me.  Thank you, Charlie."

"No, thank you. You brought a light to this pack." He moved closer to me and we both looked at each other's lips.

We both moved even closer to each other and our lips touched.  As we kissed, an electric feeling coursed through my body.

After a few, wonderful minutes we backed away from each other. Charlie put his arm around my shoulders and pulled me close. We both looked to the stars again.
