"(Y/N), are you sure you want to do this?" Makoto, a survivor or The Killing School Life, asked."Yeah, I don't mind helping out. Besides, as the Ultimate Coder, I'm sure I can do some code in case something goes wrong." I reassured. Well, Alter Ego is sure to help me too.
I've been friends with Alter Ego ever since I've started working in the Future Foundation. Although it sounds weird talking to an A.I. in a computer, it still feels like talking to a real person. Makoto explained to me that Alter Ego was created by Chihiro, the Ultimate Programer, but didn't survive The Killing School Life.
I got into my pod sitting up while attaching wires in my arms, while Makoto helped attach wires to my head. It felt painful and scary, like a kid getting a shot for the first time.
"There. You're all set!" Makoto said, attaching the last wire.
"Thank you. How long again will I be in there?" I asked.
"Erm, around 50 days." Makoto pulled out his iconic nervously thinking face.
"50 days?!" I exclaimed.
"W-well if you're able to gather the fragments and graduate faster, maybe the time would be less!" He said, while I gave a sigh.
50 days huh.. I said in my head. Well, it won't be that bad... Though, there ARE the Ultimate Despairs. It's reasonable to be nervous. My thoughts were cut off by Makoto patting my shoulders.
"You'll be fine! I'm certain they won't hurt you." He said, as if he read my mind. I gave another sigh.
"Well, I know that, it's just that I feel like something might go wrong, and I won't be able to fix it." I explained my feelings. Makoto squatted to my height since the pod im sitting in is lower than the ground.
"Nothing will go wrong. I'm sure my luck will ensure that!" He stated, "I'm sure the Future Foundation won't find out either. Right now, they're focused at what's going on in Towa City right now. They've already sent Togami there along with some men."
"Well I hope the Towa issue gets fixed soon." I scratched the back of my neck despite wires running down my neck and back. "We should get started now."
"Got it." Makoto said, getting up and walking over to the computer that activates the program. "Once I start running the program, your consciousness will be uploaded to the island. Alter Ego coded some of it so you don't loose your memories or they get overwritten." He explained.
I nodded. "Alrighty, I got it. Start er' up Naegi!" I exclaimed.
"Alrighty." Makoto pressed a button, inserted a password, and instantly, I started to feel hazy. I laid down in my pod getting comfy since I'll be here for 50 days.
"Stay safe (Y/N).." I heard Makoto say, before his voice was muffled. I closed my eyes, letting darkness surround me.
. . .
There's a door. That's it. A door. A door in darkness. Darkness expect for me. I looked down at my legs then sideways to my arms and realised that I was in my school clothes back when I attended Hopes Peak. (Can be any school clothes you wear.)
After a quick second, I felt my memories flow back to my head. Right. The classroom. I thought. Guess I'll head in.
I opened the door of classroom and what greeted me was an empty room. Well, almost empty. There was a white bunny wearing a pink dress at the teachers desk. I closed the door behind me and walked up to this bunny.
I picked it up and immediately what caught my attention was how soft it was.
"Aww...So snuggly." I said, snuggling my face on it's soft and fluffy head. After doing that, I felt it move.
