"Jug, it still feels like she's cheating on her husband. That's all it is. A part of her wants to believe that he lived when all of the facts point to the opposite. You just have to let her go."
Jughead nodded as Veronica explained the situation. Cheryl walked in, carrying Eve and Aero trotted behind her.
"Where's Betty?" Veronica asked.
"Can you guys please watch Evie? I have to go calm her down."
Veronica and Jughead nodded, grabbing Eve from Cheryl and putting her in a chair with a waffle from Veronica's plate, that was covered in maple syrup.
"Bacon please." Even said grabbing at the air.
Veronica giggled and kissed Eve on her sticky cheek. "I'll make you some angel."
Cheryl ran down the hall and back into Betty's room, launching herself onto Betty's bed and hugging her. "I shouldn't have done that. I'm a horrible human being."
"No, you aren't. Jughead is a great guy and your husband...he's gone, Betty. I know you don't want to hear it, none of us do, but it's the truth. You didn't do anything wrong, it was just a kiss."
"No, it was wrong even if he is...you know. It just happened."
"I know, but listen, his sister Toni is coming over today and she will tell you the exact same thing."
"Are you two still together?"
Cheryl nodded, rubbing Betty's arms.
"How is she doing?"
"She's recovering, still in shock."
"Can I just, go back to sleep for a bit?"
"Yeah, we've got everything under control."
Cheryl left Betty and walked back out to the kitchen where Eve was eating a piece of bacon and covered in maple syrup. "Really?"
Veronica and Jughead burst out laughing.
