I stared at my best friend Kayla. I could tell she was reading my mind.

"Hey so how about that music class we had?" she started up conversation. Her and I talked about our class we had together and how annoying our teacher was. Once every got to the table, they all started up their own conversations. I mouthed the words "Thank you" to Kayla and she smiled and nodded her head in response.

Now that the fear of Danny walking past me was over, I could actually try to eat. My friend Taylor sat to the right of me and kept saying "Oh oh! Danny's looking at you!" I guess you could say everyone knew I liked him at lunch. After contemplating on telling her he gave me his number, I finally decided to inform her and a few others at my table. They all added in positive comments and a bit of teasing, but I knew they were just joking around and I didn't mind. Once I was done with my lunch, I threw it away and recycled my pop can. When I was making my way back to me table, I glanced at Danny. He was looking at me and smiled. Not knowing what to do, I waved and smiled back at him. That's when I realized his friend were looking at me as well. Danny laughed to himself and I hurried back to my table. My face was getting red again; I could feel it. Once my friends saw I was red, they all started laughing and all I could say was "Guys.. stop."

To my surprise, I felt a hand on my shoulder; a familiar touch I felt earlier. Looking behind me, it was Danny. He looked down at me as I looked up to him.
"Talkin' about me?" and he sent a wink as he spoke.

When I tried to talk, I only stuttered. "What? I-I-ah-no- I just-We-"

He laughed and asked "How come I haven' gotten a text from ya?" That caught me off guard.

"Oh I don't text in school." I played with my ring and looked down at myself for doing that.

"Oh okay Carter. I was just wonderin'. I see yer a good girl followin' the school's rules. Nothin' wrong with that." I looked up at him and he smiled, making a mental note that his smile was going to kill me one day. I felt Taylor lightly tap my foot with hers and I looked at her. She lifter her head up and mouthed the word "Stand" and gave me a smile. I stood up and put my backpack on.

Danny pushed my chair in and asked "Can I walk ya to class?"

Smiling like a dork I replied "Yes." then I turned to my table "I'll see you guys later!" They all said some form of a "See you later!" I looked back at Danny and he had a smile on his face again. With that, I blushed more and looked at my feet to try to hide it. I felt something touch my hand. It was a gentle touch that I could get used to. I looked and Danny's hand was being laced with mine.

I looked up at him and he said "Let's go Carter." We started walking. It was a bit awkward at first because I didn't know what to say. Luckily he spoke up. "I take it you never had a boyfriend." Well I guess I wasn't so lucky due to the conversation topic.

"Um, no." That's all I could say. His thumb brushed on the back of my hand that he held and I got goosebumps.

"That's cute!" Danny swung our arms and I giggled. "That's even cuter!!" He laughed and I did too.

"Thank you." I said smiling bigger. I guided him to my class. "Well here we are." I turned and faced him.

"Okay cutie! I hope ya text me when ya get home." He tucked a piece of hair behind my ear sweetly.

"I will." I said even though I didn't believe myself. I walked into my classroom and put my backpack down. A hand touch my lower back and I spun around. Danny locked his hands behind my back and hugged me. My arms wrapped around his neck as he lowered his tall frame to make it easier for me to hug him.

He whispered in my ear "I hope you text me."

I nodded and knew he didn't believe me either. His grip loosened and I pulled back. He smiled and went his way. I sat down and the girl in front of me turned around and asked "Is that your boyfriend?"

I quickly replied "He's not my boyfriend"

She laughed and said "Oh alright." The teacher walked in and handed out the tests immediately. I was not in the mood to take a test but whatever. Class dragged on and I just kept watching the clock.

Soon the bell rang and I was the first out the door. The walk to my bus was just filled with anxiety. I didn't want to see Danny, but at the same time I did. I saw him at the end of the hallway and he had on his red beats making his way to his car. You see the buses were parked on the opposite side of where the cars parked so the juniors and seniors could get out of school quicker then the lame sophomores and freshmen.

He winked at me and my face turned pink. Finally I got to my bus and sat in the back. The bus is usually packed so I'm always forced to sit next to someone. This time it was a boy named Jordan. He and I chit chatted for a bit before he had to get off the bus. Once he did, I put Danny's number in my phone. Soon my bus stop came up and I told my bus driver to have a good day and got off. I checked the mail and went inside. Thank god no one was home except my dog that I petted hello to. I set the mail down and walked up to my room. While tossing my phone on the bed, I had to think about weather or not to text him. My dog ran into my room and jumped on my bed. "Heyy!" I laughed at him and he wagged his tail. I grabbed my phone and my heart was racing. What if all of this with Danny was some joke. I didn't want to be laughed at again by some guy. I felt my hand that Danny held earlier and remembered how gentle the touch was. That was it. I opened up a new text and just sent a simple "Hey it's Carter" I layed in bed wanting to throw up. Just as my nerves calmed down, my phone vibrated and I looked at the screen.
