You were a recently turned sixteen year old girl; however you felt a lot older since the foster system forces kids to grow up fast. You were back at the House Of Unwanteds as you called it. As the other children slept, you climbed out the window to sit on the ledge. You were left to your thoughts, "My name is Jessica. I am 16. I've made it one year not repeating the mistake my mother made at 15."

At 15 your mother had gotten pregnant by some guy, given you up, and ran off. You swore to yourself a long time ago: you were not going to follow in her foot steps. It was fairly easy anyway. You didn't have friends to begin with that would get you into any trouble.

"I wish I could just leave this place and have a life do-over." You admitted to yourself.

You looked down at your hands while you pondered your thoughts until you felt a slight tugging on your shoulder. A black ghostly hand was pulling you off the window ledge. Before you could protest the shadow brought its other hand to your mouth. Suddenly you were flying away from the foster home. Eventually you concluded this was a dream and stopped struggling against the strong grip on your arms. You went higher and higher toward the stars. The city below faded away while moving through the clouds. All of the sudden the shadow plunged back into the clouds, but instead of seeing the city lights below you, you saw calm waters leading up to an island.

"Well this isn't the weirdest thing I've dreamed I suppose." You said to the shadow. You were dropped with a loud thump of the sand. "Okay ow. I though dreams weren't supposed to hurt."

"I think you're mistaken." You heard a voice from behind you.

"Who are you?" You asked before seeing a figure push off of a tree and walk towards you.

"I'm Peter, Peter Pan. Welcome to Neverland." The figure said.

"I can't really see you, I'm sorry." You said squinting your eyes.

The figure moved into the light of the moon. He was tall and thin but still definitely had muscle on him. His hair was a light brown, but his eyes were really stunning. They were a shade of green that almost glowed in the dark shadows of his face.

"You're Peter Pan."

"Pan, please."

"Alright Pan. Man this is a weird dream." You mumbled to yourself.

"I told you you were mistaken about this being a dream. Neverland is quite real." He said raising an eyebrow at the last word.

"Sure it is and my name's Wendy Darling." You joked.

"You don't look like Wendy. Do you know her?"

"It was a joke."

"Oh well then what is your name?" He asked.

You were about to tell him when there were sounds of branches breaking behind Pan.

"And who might this be?" A tall boy with messy blonde hair asked.

"She was about to tell me Felix." Pan said. "Go ahead."

"My name's Jessica. You can call me Jess."

"It's nice to meet you. I expect you'll be needing a place to stay?" Pan said.

"She can stay with me." Felix offered but was quickly elbowed in the gut.

"Thank you for your willingness to sacrifice. I'll keep that in mind. However the girl will be staying next to me." Pan stated.

"I'm not sleeping next to you, guy I just met after falling from the sky."

"You misunderstand me. I mean for you to stay in the room next to mine."

"Oh okay." You said while thinking, "Our rooms are the only things touching tonight." Pan surely was handsome, but you already told yourself you weren't going down the same road as your mother.

"This way." Pan said while gesturing widely with his arm.
