Agent JEN9 opened her laptop. Her boss's face appeared.
"Is it done?"
"No."
"Your time is up. What happened?"
"I-" she started. "He confused me. I don't think..."
"Did you speak to him?"
"Yes."
"Don't listen to him. His ideas are dangerous."
She was surprised. "How could they be dangerous?"
"Think. You are an assassin. He's trying to mentally disarm you to keep himself alive."
Bavol Tui seemed so genuine. She didn't want to believe her boss, but maybe he was right. It made sense.
"Don't let him trick you. He is skilled at manipulating people."
It was true. He had stopped her twice before.
"I'll kill him, don't worry," she said.
"I'm sending help. Don't mess up."
