Chapter 6A black dragon got on top of him. Beetle struggled to get up. The black dragon got off. When Beetle got up he noticed it was a NightWing. Then he realized. That was Demon. "What's your problem?" Beetle asked annoyed. He'd lost the Skywing. But something was off about Demon. He didn't look... himself.
"Well thanks for nothing." Beetle said.
He tried to move but couldn't when Demon rammed into him. Beetle got knocked into the wall of what used to be the Arena. Beetle shook his head. He was dizzy from hitting the wall.
"Why?" Beetle looked up.
Demon was flying above him. "Because," Demon chuckled. This wasn't Demon. Not his paranoid dragonet friend. This was a different dragon. A different dragon all together. And it wanted to kill him.Chapter 7
Beetle was stunned. But that only made it worst. It gave his opponent the opportunity to attack. Demon breathed fire towards Beetle. Beetle ducked right before the fire hit him. Some Skywings stopped flying around and watched. Some even landed in the seats. Beetle didn't know what to do. Demon was out of his mind. Demon flew towards Beetle and lifted him in the air. Demon sliced his talons through Beetle's underbelly. Beetle roared with pain. Soon, all the Skywings were watching. Even Turtle. Demon let go and gave Beetle a chance to recover. Beetle noticed Demon wanted to say something but didn't. He really is a demon. A demon buried far below. Beetle jumped up. Well, if he's the enemy then I guess it won't hurt if I poisoned him. Then Beetle stopped. What am I thinking? He's my friend. My best friend. I can't hurt him. Beetle ducked when Demon tried to ram into him. He leaves me no choice. There is a cure for the poison.. Beetle lifted his tail up like a scorpion. This was his chance. But.. what if.. this is Demon? What if he is innocent? Being controlled maybe? Beetle was worrying again. Demon grabbed the Sandwing's tail and flew to the air. Beetle yelped as the NightWing dropped him to the ground. Demon breathed fire on Beetle's back. It didn't hurt as much as it would if he was any other tribe but it still hurt. Beetle rolled over and breathed fire too. They were both breathing fire onto each other now. But the fire wasn't hitting any of them. Demon and Beetle stayed like that, breathing fire, for a long time. Then Beetle rolled over again and leapt into the sky. He knocked Demon over so that he was unbalanced and grabbed his wing, pulling him towards the ground. Demon couldn't flap his wings due to Beetle's hold. Demon fell on the ground. Beetle started to worry again. Wait, being worried is my weakness. Beetle looked at the NightWing as he tried to get up. So if I stop worrying, I can win this. Demon rolled over and breathed fire. Beetle ducked and slashed his claws onto Demon's underbelly. Demon roared with pain and fury. The NightWing tried to claw the opposing Sandwing hybrid. Beetle refused to worry about getting scratched. Then he pushed his tail onto Demon's wingspine. Demon roared. Then he clawed at Beetle's side before, finally, fainting.
Chapter 8
It was finally over. Beetle had won. But he didn't win unharmed. Turtle flew down into the arena.
"Are you ok?" He asked.
Beetle nodded. He was still gasping for air. That really hurt Beetle. Not only the scratches and wounds Demon left him but the fact that his best friend would try and kill him. Why? Beetle couldn't think straight. He stared blankly at the NightWing. He was still breathing. It would take a while for the poison to run through. Palhuma gasped. Turtle and Beetle looked up towards the palace. Two dragons were behind their Skywing friend. Palhuma flew down to the two dragonets. So did the other two Skywings.
"What in three moons happened here?" Palhuma asked. She was staring at Demon and Beetle. Why does Palhuma say three moons more than usual? That's not really a personality. Beetle walked behind the fainted NightWing. Palhuma checked to see if the NightWing was breathing. He was. Palhuma sighed with relief. Then looked at Beetle. All the Skywings were watching now.
"Is somebody going to tell me what on earth happened?!" Palhuma yelled.
The dragons were silent.
"That's not important. We can tell you later. Who are those Skywings you brought with you?" Beetle said.
Palhuma growled to herself. Then she looked at the dragons behind her. One was a bright cherry red and the other was a fire orange.
"These dragons," Palhuma said. "Are Heatwave's parents."
