(fnaf 2 if anyone's wondering :)))

"c'mon, ya slowpoke!" a guttural laugh came from the certain person in front of me, almost inaudible compared to the wind whistling in my ear. the flurry of purple in front of me was beating so wildly, ruffling even more when he sped up. the wind was blowing in my eyes, causing stinging tears to rim my lids as i squinted and pedalled quicker. "bike faster!"

"i'm trying!" my voice sounded a little breathless even to myself, and i was sure my face was flushed from biking so hard. the moonlight was shielded by a silhouette of a swaying tree, but only for a moment before the soft gleam washed over the two of us again. it was so dark that it was a little hard to see.

you'd expect a summer night to be a little warmer.

it wasn't.

at least, not tonight.

"well you're not trying hard enough," cut to stephen, who seemed to be pedalling even faster than before. "we're gonna be late and i'm blaming it on you!"

"i don't even know why the heck we signed up for this," i panted, trying to catch up with stephen's turbo riding. "i'll fall asleep on the job."

i could literally feel stephen shrug. "being nocturnal has its perks sometimes, i guess. and no, it's not called being insomniac, shut up hosuh."

"i wasn't gonna say any -"

"shut up, hosuh!"

we weren't late, if that's the thing you're most worried about. i did get a slap on the back of my head though, for no reason whatsoever.

"if you hadn't lost your stupid shoe we could've had time to get boba," stephen grumbles next to me as i park my bicycle on the metal bike rack outside our location. answering him with a random hum of acknowledgement, i leave the other behind in the night cold and usher to the door.

getting inside with the grape head following me close behind, i took in the dimly lit place.

it was really dark, but somehow, i could see the posters on the left wall clearly. a blue bunny, a teddy bear, and an overly-sexualized chicken, glossy and mechatronic. their eyes looked a bit unsettling, and i willed myself to look away from the poster.

another thing that really popped out was the dirty checkered ground. when was the last time someone mopped the floor here? the walls and the cashier table wasn't better off either; it looked like the place had been abandoned for years. the thing in the cleanest state here was the large, blue, overhead menus, listing different pizzas and juices. it still looked dirty as heck, though.

i leaned towards stephen, keeping my gaze on the menus. "are you sure we have the right place?"

"uh..." he was already checking gps on his phone, zooming in and out and squinting at the screen. "i think so. but i'm not sure."

i looked around again. there was a doorframe leading to another opening on the right, and i took a few steps forward to peek in. the room in front was really big, tables set up in rows with balloons and party hats everywhere. it looked like a party room, ready to go, as if kids would burst in any second to celebrate. that didn't make sense. since it was almost midnight... why the whole setup?

i turned my head a little to see everything in the large room, and my heart almost leaped out of my chest when i noticed the three animal robots i saw in the poster, frozen and carrying music instruments on a small stage. they looked so frickin' creepy, just standing there.
