Chapter 3

Death

"I'm sorry if I read your mind, Farius." I said when I remembered everything already.

"It's alright." He said. "But it's wrong. Just don't do it again."

Ngumiti ako at tumango. May tumigil sa aming tabi dahilan upang mag-angat kami ng tingin.

"What are you doing here, Trisha?" Galla asked curiously.

"Uh, Azariah... I'm sorry. Hindi agad ako nakabalik." Aniya.

"What you did is really wrong. You knew that Azariah is still not good at controlling her power." Sabi ni Galla at bumuntong hininga. "Ano pa ba kaseng ginawa mo? I called you, didn't I?"

Kumunot ang noo ko sa kaniyang sinabi.

"What do you mean?"

"Mind link, you know. But, she didn't bother to come back ASAP."

"It's alright, Trisha. You did your mission and I did mine also."

Malungkot na ngumiti si Trisha bago magpaalam at umalis.

"You didn't have to say that, Galla."

I heard Galla tsked. I sighed and smiled a bit.

We're heading towards our room when we heard someone shouted. Kumunot ang noo ko nang makitang naglalabasan ang mga estudyante sa section C.

"Captain! Isabelle is dead!" A man said to Farius.

Kumunot ang noo ni Farius at naglakad palapit sa room ng section C.

"What happened?" Farius asked with full authority.

"W-We thought that s-she's just sleeping because everytime we call her..." the girl cleared her voice. "--She didn't respond that's why I tried to... I tried to wake her up. Kaya lang nung inangat ko na ang mukha niya, maputla na siya at hindi na humihinga."

Niyakap siya ng isa niyang kaibigan nang magsimula siyang umiyak.

I glanced at Isabelle whose eyes are closed and no signs of life at all.

Dumating ang mga teacher kasama ang paramedic at ilang mga men in black.

We stepped aside to give them way. Niyaya na ako ni Galla na umalis while Gallo and Farius remain for the investigation.

"Dear Students, this is from Nasaurus' office. Classes are suspended for 3 days, for us to mourn for our beloved student who's now resting in peace." I heard the announcement coming from the speakers.

Pagod akong humiga sa kama nang makarating sa aking dorm.

After the Blast, ito naman ang nangyari. Are they connected to each other? Because why is it all of a sudden?

I didn't hear any information about what happened during last week's dinner but the director said that it's nothing to be worried about. Kaya lang wala nga bang dapat ipangamba?

Nagpalit muna ako ng damit at pagkatapos ay pumunta sa dorm ni Galla. I met a pair of blue eyes when I entered the elevator.

Pinindot ko ang 10th floor dahil naroon ang dorm ni Galla.

I'm just looking straight when I heard him talked.

"If the sun dies, all the livings will die too."

Kumunot ang noo ko dahil sa sinabi niya. Is he talking to himself? Or is he talking to me?

"What do you think the sun needs to do, Azariah?"

Napabaling ako sa kaniya ng may pagtataka. How did he know my name?

"You're the powerful girl that can 'save' us. Anyway, care to answer my question?"

Nang hindi ko siya sagutin ay siya ang sumagot.

"The sun needs to control itself from giving too much energy." He said and smirked. "You need to learn how to control it in the most fastest way, Miss Wooston. Malay mo ang isa sa mga kalaban ay nakapasok na nang hindi natin nalalaman."

Bumukas ang elevator para sa kaniyang floor at bago siya makalabas ay nagsalita ako.

"But it's not just the sun who needs to do the work. The livings need to do something that can help them when the sun can't do anything for its death."

Pagkarating ko sa dorm ni Galla ay agad akong umupo sa kama niya.

"This is the first time you went here. Do you want an ice cream?" She asked curiously.

"Huh? Anong connect?" kunot-noo kong tanong. What's the connection of an ice cream on me for coming here? "Nevermind. I have a question to you."

"And what is it?"

"Anong nangyari sa naganap na pagsabog? Do you have any information about that?"

Kunot-noo siyang umayos ng upo.

"Ang alam ko lang is pagsabog lang talaga ang naganap. Maybe it's some kind of threat? Walang nakitang ibang tao si Trisha nang makarating siya sa pinangyarihan. Wala ring pumasok dito sa Academy. And yung wall na nagiba ay naayos na."

"So the director is lying?"

"White lies, yes. He's trying to stop the chaos that can cause students to be afraid from what happened." Aniya.

"Maybe the one who did that might just wandering outside this Academy."

"Uh-huh. Kaya mas pina-igting pa ang security sa loob at labas ng campus."

I sighed and looked outside her window.

"Why'd you ask?"

"Nothing." I smiled at her before saying goodbye.

"Pumunta ka lang dito para roon?" She asked in disbelief.

I chuckled before waving my hands.

Nang makarating sa room ko ay sakto namang narinig ko ang announcement.

"Dear Students, The dinner will be served to you in your room. Again, the dinner will be served to you in your room. Thank you."

Why is that? Umiling na lang ako sa naisip bago kinuha ang phone.

It's just quarter to seven kaya napagdesisyunan kong tawagan si Aura.

"Hey, Riah. How--- ohh, that's it! Fuck! Hmm--"

I ended the call fastly. Ano pa bang inaasahan ko? Of course, she's giving service right now.

I just closed my eyes and tried to feel the energy of my power. I'm trying to learn how to feel my energy and control it at the same time. Agad akong napamulat ng mata nang may makitang mga imahe sa aking isip.

What just happened? Am I just hallucinating or did I create images in my head?

Umiling-iling ako dahil sa mga naiisip. Am I going crazy? Shit.

Imbis na bumalik sa pagsasanay ay nag-aral na lang ako sa ibang mga subjects namin.
