23 July
6:13 PM

Evenings come along a profound sense of relief and repose. The warm stillness of July mingles with the mild dampness of infrequent showers to create a presence of placidity.

It has been yet another tedious day of striving for perfection with oils paints and acrylics and by restraining myself to head home early. The gestural piece I created proved to be a complete failure and I could not help but despise my inability to conquer perfection.

"Jimin-ssi!" Jungkook, the incredibly timid and muscled male cries in delight before eagerly jogging to the metallic gates and to where I stand.

Jungkook being a mousy character doesn't necessary reach out to those around him and barely endures a conversation that's offered to him. Ever since the last encounter,he has been courageous enough to cling onto me as his only saviour in a crowd of those  unfamiliar to him, trailing after me like that of a lost puppy.

After coming to a gradual halt,he sheepishly smiles. "You did great today!" Voice immersed in admiration and delight.

Little did he know what he had admired was what I had disliked. The piece wasn't appealing neither pleasing enough to be appreciated. But I didn't debate, rather, suppressed my discontent.

"You thought I didn't know?" With a wide grin over the lips, I furrow my brows comically at him that eventually breaks Jungkook into quite, little giggles.  The timidity is gradually fading, his eyes aren't brimming with worry, rather, it innocently beams with glee. The lack of 'familiarity' with other individuals is probably what conceals his merry laughters and turns them into edgy and pretended ones.

"Wanna walk till intersection together?" I gently offer. For the past few days, I have observed him scurry out of the university with hands tightly clasped around the straps, probably to escape swarm of unfamiliar individuals that turns him anxious.

"Yes" he smiles.

Jungkook and I stroll down the vibrant streets, chattering about our preferences and dislikes, how university is exhausting out of wits and how some people were better of dead,Jungkook snickers at the latter before willingly agreeing.

When we're about to near the intersection, quite unexpectedly, a hand gropes at my bottom. The abrupt act sparks terror and alarm, nauseating enough to bring the heart at a halt. The sensation sends shudders while the insides churns in pure revulsion. I snap my neck at the doer.

"Hi lovely" A triad of notorious, late teenagers stands before us. Black, taut slacks wrap around the ankle while thin, skull imprinted tees cover their slender frames, revealing a pair of densely inked arms. Tousled hair, helix piercings along with metallic silver chains gives an edgy appearance, similar to that of your local gangsters.

"Any plans for tonight sweet one?" the one in the center speaks in a sultry voice, fiddling with the cigar in his hands. I suppose he's  barely even seventeen. His soft, innocent features are hindered with a smug look plastered over them. I shake my head in dismay and find Jungkook cringe at the sight before him.

"I'm free little one but have you done your fractions homework?" I cheekily voice. Jungkook bursts into hearty laughters while one with blonde hair fumes with exasperation.

"It seems like these innocent souls are oblivious of the menaces  we are." The bright red head gestures at us before smirking at his pals. It's as if i can see right through their souls that I decide to terrify and drill some sense into the these striplings.

"It's probably you who is oblivious of the fact that he is a black belt in taekwondo" I fearlessly announce before gesturing to Jungkook who snaps his head towards me with an appalled expression, eyes nearly bulging out of astonishment and confusion.
