The whole lunch was spent by Izuku talking about his job. How he loved being a hero and how nobody believed he would make it. The man's childhood was hard, his classmates were assholes, and honestly, it was the best story he had heard.

Kacchan listened to every little detail with wide eyes and an excited posture. He learned that Izuku's mum is the most loving being on earth and that his dad should be punished for leaving his family.

Izuku's life was quite impressive. At some moments, Kacchan wished he had one like that too.

"I'm probably talking too much, sorry." His eyes met Izuku's. The smile that crawled on the man's face made him wanna smile back if he didn't forget how to.

"Anyways, I want to go shopping later tonight. Want to come with me?" Izuku said and took his empty plate and went to wash it in the sink.

He slightly nodded, hoping Izuku saw him.

"Great! Do you have anything you want to do until then?" Kacchan looked outside. The thought of freedom was bugging him in the back of his mind. It was cloudy, meaning it will rain soon.

"We can't go outside yet, but we can go to the balcony if you want." His whole body shook with excitement, and without further questions, he went to the balcony door and waited for Izuku to open it. The man laughed at how silly he was and went to open the door. But Before he could go through, Izuku stopped him with his hand and told him to wait inside so he can check the surroundings first.

The other stayed at the door for a while, looking around the area, and when he was sure they were safe, the man smiled and motion for him to come outside.

With slow but curious steps, Kacchan walked out and stood next to Izuku, looking around to take in his surroundings.

All kinds of flowers surrounded them from every side. They were placed on the railing so it was hard to see anybody on the balcony through them. The plants were big, and the color green dominated. Sweet Basil, Lemon Balm, Rosemary, even Levander was here. The smell of them all combined was weirdly sweet.

Izuku had a tiny wood bench on the side. It looked old, but not old enough to crumble beneath them.

The man sat on it and left a bit of space for him, which he took after a while of just staring at the flowers, and when he finally sat, he noticed that there was no view.

They were staring at a brick wall of the building in front of them. The balcony was right next to it, literally squeezed in the small gap between the two buildings. Was it even supposed to be here?

Kacchan didn't care, all he wanted was to be here forever and hoped that the universe won't screw him over just this once.

Small drops of water started drizzling from the sky. 'When was the last time I felt rain?' He looked up and closed his eyes, feeling the raindrops drip down his face. Izuku's eyes remained on him. They always did. And he wanted it to stay this way.

Kacchan was stunning, looking like that, his eyes closed, and his features relaxed. Izuku loved it all, the kissable pink lips and long eyelashes, the beautiful golden hair, and those ruby eyes.

It was a feeling he didn't feel in a long time. Most of the time, when he found someone he liked, it took months of conversations and knowing each other before he started to feel something.

But with Kacchan, it was different.

The rain started getting stronger, and it was starting to get cold too. Weather like this reminded him of all the days he spent alone, waiting for a call from his agency with nothing much to look forward to.

Maybe now if Kacchan wanted, they could stay together. They were both lonely, right? A soft, warm hand settled on top of his scarred one, and Izuku took it and held it tightly.

He could get used to this.

"Here, take this." Izuku gave him a leather jacket. It had white fur around the collar and was a bit big on his smaller frame.

He did as told and when he put it on, Izuku helped him zip it up. "That looks good enough. Now try these." A pair of old red sneakers were pushed into his hands. "I used to wear them when I was in high school. They were my favorite!"

With some effort, he was able to put them on. They were big but still felt comfortable and didn't slip too much.

Izuku put on a green hat and a grey coat to hide from unwanted attention. From a distance, you wouldn't recognize him under the layers of clothes.

"Take my hand and don't forget, if anything feels off, tell me." Both of them stepped outside and down to the front door and walked into the streets. Not many people were around at a late time like this, only the ones coming from work and the ones that wanted to get wasted.

Izuku led him to a more lively street. It was colorfully lit by shops around them, the rain making a reflection of the lights under them, and all of it was somehow beautiful.

Shops and restaurants were everywhere. He couldn't stop looking around. It wasn't the first time he was outside, but it was the first time he walked so freely around people.

When someone came too close, he hugged Izuku's hand a little tighter and the man hugged back, assuring him it was alright.

Soon enough, they reached a small store with a small number of people. "Come on, let's go." Izuku dragged Kacchan inside and immediately started to look around. The man began picking all kinds of vegetables while he stood behind him and looked at the regals with soap. One of them stood out, the red cover looked somehow similar to him.

It was a spicy one, and somehow, it reminded him of his past. When he lived in a house with his parents, around four, he saw something similar on the counter almost every other day.

He looked away before he could think too much about it and continued to listen to Izuku's mumbling.

"Oh, right! I almost forgot, let's choose a shampoo for you." Kacchan couldn't help but stare at the regal. There were so many of them that he didn't know where to start. Izuku helped him choose by picking one by one, putting them under his nose until he found an aroma he liked the most.

The caramel one smelled the best, so he took that one. They picked up some ice cream and sweets for a night snack. Izuku told him he had a strong sweet tooth. The man couldn't keep his mouth shut for even a second as he thought about what else to bring home.

Izuku stopped mumbling when he felt a soft tug on his coat. The man looked down at him, watching his expression. "Is there something you want?"

He shook his head, slowly pointing to the section next to them. Izuku followed his finger and almost activated his quirk because of what he saw.

Dabi was on standing on the side, wearing an oversized jacket with a cap on his head and hood over it. It didn't look like the villain noticed them yet.

Izuku threw his arms around him, covering his head, and turned them around so Izuku's back was towards the villain. "It's alright, it's fine. I won't let them take you."

The comforting voice repeated in his ear. With slow movements, Izuku took his phone out of his pocket and called someone. He could hear a man talking on the other line, but the words were too quiet for him to hear.

After Izuku hung up, he held him tighter, gritted his teeth, and tried not to look suspicious. "It's alright. Help is on its way."

Izuku was right, not a minute later, two guys in black suits walked in. Aizawa was right about the police putting heroes around for protection.

The two heroes stepped closer to the guy, being cautious to not make a scene. Dabi didn't move which was suspicious, it wasn't until one hero went to touch him that he threw the first punch and made a run for it.

Izuku half expected him to attack with fire, but the villain probably didn't want to have much attention on himself.

They were safe for now, but this means the league is somewhere nearby. Izuku hoped they didn't track down his house.
