The Other Side of Matthew Taylor _ chapter #6

"Hello? Oh, Mrs. Taylor! Hi...I.. Agh...I am doing great...how ab..about you?"

My voice shook as I talked to Mrs. Taylor on the phone. It has been two days since the entire Matthew disaster, but I haven't yet been able to sort things yet. I tried talking to him a million times, but he rushed in the other direction the moment he saw me.

Everytime I tried to make eye-contact, he would look in the opposite direction. After a million futile attempts at trying to make him talk to me, I still hadn't given up.

But what happened today morning made me wonder whether I should give up on mission help Matthew already.

*flashback*

"Matthew! Matthew, stop for heavens sake! How long will you avoid me?"

"I hate you. I hate you, Kiara Stone."

I knew Matthew hated me. He always had. But actually hearing those 3 words come out of his mouth with that kind of intensity......to say It killed me would be the understatement of the millennium. I couldn't stop the tears that found a way on my cheeks ; and I couldn't care less about them.

For my eyes were burnt with the tears that I saw in Matthew's eyes. The tears that never came out, the tears whose presence I felt in my heart. In that one sentence, Matthew filled me with guilt from head to toe.

*End of flashback*

"Kiara! Kiara, babe you alright?" Alice asked, her voice laden with concern. Rohan,her and I had decided to make our project together, and like always, we decided to meet at my place.

"You look as if you just found out that Zac Effron died!" Yeah, that's Rohan. Always says wrong things at wrong times.

"Shut up! How dare you say something so...so..ugh Rohan! You have no right to say anything about Zac okay? " Alice said with her usual drama.

I would've added to the drama Alice started, it's always fun when we girls gang up against Rohan. But not today. Today seemed as if the world had ganged up against me.

"Kiaaaa! Say something! Where are you, girl?" Alice said waving her hands in front of me.

Before I could think of a proper justification for my spaced-out behaviour, Rohan tickled me.

For the first time in my life, I wasn't ticklish. I am someone who totally couldn't bear tickling, I would burst out laughing in between tears if someone tickled me.

And trust me on this, Rohan is almost like a professional tickler. Almost.

And inspite of all this, I didn't laugh. Let alone laughing, my lips didn't even twitch.

Matthew Taylor, what have you done? I am still not able to handle your other side, and you are already bringing out a new side in me.

"Kiaaaa! Babe speak up! Ugh, I think you need food. Yeah, food should help." Alice said, as her own stomach did a little rumble. A rather loud one.

And that was it. I had enough gloominess for now.Me and Rohan laughed and laughed till our cheeks were red and stomachs ached. Alice joined us in laughing and then declared officially that she needed food like NOW.

"You guys, I am gonna go grab some food now. Want me to get something for you two?"

"Did you seriously ask that? Al, you really think we are going to let you eat without us?"

"Yeah, okay. Whatever. "

And she hurriedly left the room with that.

Rohan laid down on the bed in a lazy fashion, his face bearing a serious look.

"Kiara, mind if I ask you something?"

"Did you seriously ask that?" I repeated what he said to Al.

"Come on Rohan, you know you can ask me anything. Moreover, I know you will me ask me what you want to anyways."

"Yeah I would, but to answer or not, is completely your choice."

"Now stop with the suspense will you?"

"Kiara..."

"Yes, Rohan? "

"Are you pregnant? "

Before I could digest Rohan's question and realise it was a joke, Alice entered the room laughing wierdly with ruffles on her mouth. Rohan burst out laughing too, and I couldn't come up with anything smart enough to say. So, yeah I laughed along too.

This is what best friends are for. They bring out the best in you, and wouldn't let you be sad even If you choose to.
