Ever since the scientist thing, we haven't really been stopping to rest or anything. I have no idea for how long we've been walking... Maybe that's not a good thing. I'll just ask Fukase. I'd try to move my paste up to walk beside him. "Fukase, for how long have we've been walking?" I asked. "We've been walking for a pretty long time. I think that we might enter level 1 anytime soon." Yay! That means one step closer to escape! I thought to myself. There was another staircase now, but instead of being brown like the other ones it was grey. "Come on, this is probably the way to level 1." He'd say. We walked down the stairs and I looked around for change immediately. Nothing? Seriously? A wave of disappointment would fill my chest. So it'll take longer to get there? I sighed. "No, Oliver. Stop looking so bumped out. Changes does not happen in just one room to another, it happens slow pasted. You'll notice more mold on the walls, more lamps will stop working and when it smells almost completely dead we'll be there." He said. "Oh! Alright." So I guess we're actually close? Great! "Fukase, since this level is harder, could you tell me about some monsters that we haven't seen before?" I asked. "Yeah, sure. There are the crawlers, six arms, screechers, skin stealers and some others. These are the most common ones, though." He said. "Alright! What do they do?" Fukase sighed. "Crawlers are humanoid creatures with long hair that usually sit in the corners of rooms. They walk on all four and their skin is rotten. If you see one, stop looking at it directly and back away." He said. I hope that one was the worst one. It sounds terryfying. "Six arms are tall figures who wanders slowly around the backrooms, and screechers are creatures that no one knows how they look like. You can only detect them by their melancholy distorted scream. If you hear it, walk the opposite direction and don't even look in the direction of the sound." He said and I noticed the walls were getting even more filled with mold. "And then we have skin stealers. They are not hostile unless you touch them. Of course, when you get close it gives you an urge but it's not that hard to fight off. Without them stealing skin, they look like some sort of hairless big foot." he said. "You believe in big foot?" I asked. "What? No I was only-" He sighed. "Let me continue. Skin stealers can wear the skin of victims they've killed and pretend to be another survivor, hence why I looked at your neck for scars before. Skin stealers usually have scars or stretches around the neck or chest. So basically, if you see any survivor here, don't go to them." He'd say. Oh well jeez I hope I won't meet any of those, they all seem terrible. While walking the lights would start to flicker, which I guess means we're closer to level 1. "Fukase, which monsters have you got in contact with?" I asked. He looked back at me. "I have seen every confirmed monster in this entire place." He said. "There are multiple unconfirmed, but thinking about for how long I've been here, I bet they're fake." He'd look forward again and walk faster. I did the same. After awhile he said; "We're in level 1 now, no doubt." He took something out from his pocket- ah, a flashlight! "Oh, right. The light flickers here pretty often right? That's a smart call!" I said. "No, it's just something anyone who has been here should know. Though it took pretty long until I found this flashlight." He said. "Oh, well. Good job!" I cheered on him and all he said was "Quiet."
Jerry would start to make this loud sound, maybe he's hungry? "Oliver, make your bird shut up..!" Fukase would whisper in an annoyed tone. "Do you have more seeds?" I asked. "Yeah, just take them. Make him shut up!" Fukase would reach into his pocket and give me some seeds. I'd quickly feed them to Jerry and he would shut up. Phew, finally the dangers over. Is what I thought 3 seconds ago. All lights shut off. Fukase would whisper; "Alright.. Be quiet, don't get lost, stay close to me and if you hear something; tell me quickly and what it was." Fukase turned on his flashlight and it was possible to see again. Fear wrapped its evil arms around me but I'd try to ignore it the best I could. I tried to keep up with Fukases paste so I wouldn't be too far away, but it was a challenge. "For how long is this going to last?" I asked quietly. "Could be for 5 minutes, could be for 3 hours." He answered. Well, shoot. I don't wanna be like this for 3 hours... I hope it just stays like this for about 5 minutes. I'd have a strange feeling in my chest, like something was behind me. I wanted to ignore it, but fear mixed with curiosity was really the worst mix so I looked behind me. I didn't see anything, but I heard something. I tapped on Fukases shoulder who was concentrating on moving forward. "F-Fukase- I think there's something behind us." I said, with the melancholy distorted scream getting even closer. Fukase turned off his flashlight and grabbed my hand. "Come on, it'll be easier for us to run it out without any light for it to notice us." A weird feeling I couldn't really describe filled my chest when he took my hand. He'd start running and I would as well. The scream would again get quieter and quieter and it made me feel safer for every second. Jeez, I hate things like that... The lights got back on and Fukase stopped running. He also let go off my hand and he'd start walking normally again. "Yay, we did it!" I said. "You still need to be quiet. We don't want to run up on something even worse." Fukase put his flashlight in his pocket. I looked up at him. His red eye looked so calm, like he has done this atleast a million times. I mean, maybe he has? I feel sorry for him... Though I'd start looking forward and try to ignore any other distracting thoughts. Maybe it's just best to keep your mind blank? My thoughts never shut up, so that'd be a challenge... When walking, I'd see this person in another room that looks extremely familiar. Is that Ruby? I- Is she really here? Ruby is my sister and she disappeared without a trace 3 months ago. I couldn't help myself but to run into that room. "Ruby!" I'd yell. "I-Is it really you?" She did look like Ruby, but without make up and her clothes were more ragged. I felt terrible... But, now with Fukase she could surely escape with us! I'd run up to her and hug her, but then I'd hear this weird growl. I'd look up to see I made a very, very big mistake. This is not Ruby... Fukase ran into the room and grabbed his axe. He pushed me away and tried attacking the monster while mumbling something to himself. "Bloods red, she's not dead. Bloods not in sight... Get Ready to fight." While he was murdering what I just thought was Ruby, my lost sister 10 seconds ago turned out to have this see through blood. Even if it was a creature, I couldn't look. I had to look away. Because this made me come tp the realization that the thing took her- it must... It must mean. I sat down and covered my face with my hands. It was hard thinking. I just want to throw up. Ruby's... Ruby's dead? She died here...? After a bit Fukase said; "Alright, it's dead now. Let's go. I couldn't stand up. Tears were pouring out of my eyes and I wanted to scream so badly. Ruby is dead. Fukase would drag me up. "Look, if you knew that person, I'm really sorry, but we need to keep going." I couldn't stop crying. "Sh-She was my sister... Sh-She went missing... Some.. Months ago." It was all I could say. From the blurry vision I could still see some sort of guilt in Fukases eye. "I'm really sorry. But we need to keep going." I wiped my tears and tried to get this feeling away from my chest. I just want a hug. "Ple-Please can you hug me? I just.. I need it right now..." I said and he'd sigh and hug me. I don't care if it was only to just keep on going. It felt nice. It didn't make the terrible feeling go away, but atleast it was like a bandaid. He'd stop hugging me and I would wipe my tears. I... I don't know how I'm going to tell Hio, mom and dad when I get back... "A-Alright.. We can keep walking now."
I didn't know for how long we had been walking but Fukase stopped. "Alright, I know what happened before must have been rough since it's your first time. We could sit down in that room for a bit and rest if you want." He said and I stopped beside him. "Wow... You actually care? Yes, it'd be amazing to just sit down and rest, thank you, Fukase!" I said and he'd sigh. "I just don't want you to turn into a crazy faceling. Then you'll never be able to leave." I smiled and followed him into a room where we could sit down. "Have you lost a family member here?" I asked and sat down beside him. "I have lost 2 family members. One was my little sister, she turned into a faceling. But the thing is that she's just a young kid, so she turned to a more dangerous one. There's 2 type of facelings, the ones like Piko and Len, and then there's the children in the red vests that try to lure you into death." Fukase said. I really just wanted to give him a hug, his life seems so terrible..."Who was the other one?" Fukase sighed. "It hurts to say that he was even my stepdad once. He turned crazy, but not in the way like a faceling. He met the scientists and became one of them. My stepdad is the one who captured us." There was anger and bertrayal in his eye. "He used to be so nice. He was a teacher before he got here. But then he got with those scientists... Well... Atleast it made me meet Piko, Len and Flower by escaping from him." He said. "I'm sorry Fukase." I really wish I could have done more for him than just feeling sorry, but there's really not much. Jerry would say; "Fukase! Fukase!" And I almost thought I saw some small smile from the corner of his lip, but it must have been an illusion. "Do you think we could just sleep here for a bit, or would that be too dangerous?" I asked. "It would probably be too dangerous, but you can rest. I'll just keep watch." I nodded. "If you ever get too tired though just wake me up and we can shift!" I took off my blue hoodie and used it as a pillow yet again. I layed down and thought about Ruby. I tried swallowing down the fact that she's actually dead, but I couldn't. That must just have been an illusion. She's not dead. I'll find her here and I'll take her home. I promise I will do that. After a bunch of worrying thoughts, I managed to fall asleep.
