pulling the trigger on a gun as it aims at another person is a whole other fucking ball park of crime. but I had to do it.

~<~<~<~

Me and Benji flinched at the sound of a window shattering and falling to the floor in a million pieces.

I hooked my finger towards him to signal for him to follow me.

We tiptoed low to the ground, out the door of the room we were in.

"Jorge-" Dean yelled, drawing out the e, "there's no where for you to go!"

Benji continued to follow me as I held a finger up to my lips, telling him to be absolutely silent. We creeped down a section of the factory, sitting quietly behind a large piece of wood resting against a pole.

I heard Deans boots come close behind us before getting quieter as he waltzed past.

I began moving again, this time towards the front of the factory where we had entered. We needed to get to Deans car. I didn't want to hurt him, but if I could pop one or two of his tires, we would have enough time to leave and get somewhere else before he could follow us.

I didn't know where Ryker was, but he clearly wasn't here, so I was going to take my chances and attempt my plan to the best of my ability.

We walked past one of the smashed windows, and I winced as I heard the glass crunch beneath my feet. I pulled Benji under a desk with me. I knew Dean heard it, cause it wasn't long till his footsteps began nearing us once again.

I took a large rock and threw it all the way across the large room, hitting and smashing another window. I watched through a crack in the desk as Dean stopped near us, but then turned around, now headed towards the newly shattered window.

I took a breath of relief and nodded towards the front door of the factory, which wasn't that far away.

I could see the light on the outline of the door, and I smiled at the thought of getting out of here.

My steps quickened, my mind eager to get to the exit.

I reached my arm out, ready to grip the handle.

But before I could, the door opened, my momentum sending me flying to the ground.

In stepped Dean.

Benji helped me get up and we both watched in fear as Dean smiled evilly at us.

"Dean... I- I can explain."

"Oh no, I know exactly what's happening hear!" He said sarcastically with a laugh. He never talked in a deep, scary voice like you'd imagine. He always talked as if he was amused, and having a good time, and somehow, that confidence and demeanor made him so much more intimidating.

"You two, are twinking around! Isn't that right?!" He took a step closer and we stepped back.

"Dean, it doesn't have to be this way. It really doesn't. Benji is a good person. He wants to join us!"

"I'm sorry, did I hear that damn sentence correctly? Or are my ears lying to me? Or, are YOU lying to me? Cause you of all people Jorge, know that lying, is a punishable offense."

I swallowed my fear and gathered up my courage to talk again.

"Jorge, I don't think you are aware of the problem we have here. You are disobeying me, and you know what happens when people disobey The Angel."

"Dean please, you don't understa-"

"NO! You are the one who doesn't understand my friend!" Dean yelled as his face became slightly red with anger.

This was the first time he had ever really yelled at me, and I wasn't prepared. It reminded me too much of my own father, and it was something I thought I would never have to face again.

"Kill him Jorge. I demand you to kill him. Easy peasy lemon squeezy!" He smiled maniacally as he returned to his silly but terrifying stature.

The leather on his jacket squeaked together as he took one more step forward, us taking another step back.

He reached his hand towards his pocket and I did so quicker than him, stepping in front of Benji and aiming my pistol straight towards him.

"Jorge, do you even know who his mother is?"

I gulped.

"N-no."

"She's the fucking prick that killed Siddiq! That's why I wanted this kid dead! Doesn't that make you want him dead too?" He huffed and stared at me with his eyes glazed over.

I glanced at Benji out of the corner of my eye. He had his hands over his mouth and tears in his eyes. He had nothing to do with Siddiqs death. His mother had done it, and he hardly knows anything about her unlike he thought that he did.

But even though I knew he would have never hurt me or someone I cared about intentionally, a flurry of anger rushed over me. Anger at Benji, even though none of this was his fault, but mostly anger at Dean. Anger at him for trying to kill Benji, the boy I didn't even know existed 3 weeks ago, but who I had grown to love so dearly. I was angry with Dean for not telling me Benjis mother had killed Siddiq. And I was even more angry that now, he had me in this position. In between the two of them with a gun in my hand.

"If you want to kill him, you'll have to kill me first." I said as bravely as I could. I tried to be intimidating, but it seemed nearly impossible, I was afraid of him and what he would do. Much more afraid of him than I had ever been before. But Dean however, wasn't the one with a gun in his hand.

"HIS mother killed Siddiq right in front of you!" He yelled.

"What, l-like you didn't do that to s-so many other people!" I stuttered. But I was right. He's killed tons of people directly in front of other people who cared about them. In a way, he was just as bad as Jadis. And he always made it brutally slow and gory. I had seen him do it, and even though they weren't a loved one of my own, it always traumatized me in a way that most would never have to understand.

"You gon' learn kid." His lips twisted into a snarl and he took yet another step towards us.

This time, I decided to be brave. I took a step towards him as well, and sure enough, he backed up slightly. I had his life resting in the palm of my hands, and I had the power to take it away at any given second.

"You aren't gonna shoot me, you might as well put the gun down Jorge." Even with the show of confidence he put up, I could tell that he was scared, and that in turn only made me more confident.

I didn't budge, even under his stare. So he put his hand in his pocket and pulled out his knife.

I had seen him do horrible, awful things with that knife, and those moments flashed through my mind as he gripped it tight.

"If you won't kill him, I will" he growled.

I loaded the pistol as he attempted to take a step toward me, and he stepped back to where he was before in response. He was about 10 feet away from us.

All of the sudden he lunged, charging at me. It was as if everything was in slow motion, and my eyes began to water. I truly did love Dean. He was like a father to me. Even with all the awful things he's done. Who knows what he would do to me now, and I was definitely afraid. But still, I loved him, and despite every cell in my body telling me not to, I pulled the trigger.
