Midoriya's POV
"Okay! Get comfortable, everybody!" announced Momo, dressed in purple, silk pajamas. "It's movie night!" I looked around to see piles of sheets, fluffy blankets, and stuffed animals of every species. Kirishima was next to Bakugo to my right, and to my left Uraraka, Tsu, and Mina braided each other's hair. Behind me was, of course, Todoroki. We weren't really snuggling though.
Our act had become strong, and Uraraka seemed to be avoiding me, slightly angry. It was working, and I was having fun in the process! We planned to break up in a week, semi-publically, but calmly. Then, Uraraka was sure to be relieved it was fake and we'd go to the dance together
Except, there was one issue.
I didn't want to break up with Todoroki.
"Alright," Iida began, straightening his glasses. "It would be your turn to choose Mineta b-"
"Mt. Lady's Steamy Night in Paris! That's my choice!" he shrieked, throwing his blanket in the air.
"Two things," Momo glared. "You pick the genre, not the movie. And, it would be your turn to choose Mineta, but you're banned from picking. It's Tsu's turn." I heard pouting and a stomp, but I didn't bother to look at the sour grape.
"Ribbit!" she exclaimed, placing a finger to her cheek. "Hmm, how about a musical movie?" I heard protests from Bakugo, but the girls and a few boys were excited.
"The Greatest Showman!" shrieked Mina. People groaned, understandably. We watched that just two weeks ago.
"Rocketman!" Sero yelled. "It's about Elton John, he's iconic." People didn't seem as excited as the tape boy.
"Detective Pikachu!" screeched Kaminari.
"Tch, that's not a fucking musical, dumbass!"
"The Little Mermaid," Todoroki mumbled behind me, but nobody heard him. He didn't bother to speak up.
"Trolls World Tour," Tokoyami said quietly, and everybody turned to him. He just shrugged at them.
"What about K-12 by Melaine Martinez?" Momo suggested. Aoyama, Kota, and the rest of the girls squealed, as that was their favorite artist. Even Jiro did. The boys groaned, but we know that wouldn't win.
Right?
Todoroki's POV
"Alright, that's 2 votes for The Little Mermaid" Iida announced holding a stake of scraps. "8 for K-12, 2 for Detective Pikachu, 5 for Rocketman, and 3 for The Greatest Showman. K-12 wins." The lights began to dim.
The girls cheered, and I saw smoke coming from my right. Momo clicked on the movie, which began with only a bit of talking before a song came on. The clothes, room, everything was this weird, romanticized ancient Greece like style.
I listened as Midoriya leaned to the side, asking the girls what it was about. Uraraka tried to explain, but he aggressively ignored her. I almost felt bad for the floating girl.
Almost.
I saw her face contort into expressions of sadness, anger, and jealousy as Tsu explained. "It's like, this girl and her best friend embark on a mission to take down the oppressive school system."
"All the 'woke' people are immortal beings with these powers knowing the only way to understand is to experience" Aoyama added, pointing to the screen as the main character used her powers to jostle the bus. That way, the boy was shoving his ass to the window fell. I heard Bakugo snicker, before shoving his hand over his mouth.
"All of Melanie Martinez's songs are in it," Jiro said. "One's about anorexia, insecurities in our bodies, pedophilia, etc etc."
"Shhhh!" whispered-yelled a certain English teacher's voice. I jumped, startled, and turned around to see Mr. Aizawa and Present Mic sharing a blanket, watching the movie. "This is my favorite part," he hissed. Nobody invited them?
As the popcorn bowls went down, Midoriya or I both realized we didn't enjoy the movie much. I doubt most of the boys did either. Still, we didn't leave. It's common courtesy to stay, even if you don't enjoy the movie. The entirety of movie night is mandatory. However, Bakugo didn't seem to care about that as he dragged Kirishima upstairs. Neither did Mineta as he stomped upstairs within the first five minutes.
I knew he would be sad that he missed Strawberry Shortcake. She was wearing a tight, peach skinsuit, but none of the other boys seemed to realize that. Plus, a lot of the dancing in Show and Tell was...uh...what's the word? Slutty? That seems too rude. Risque.
"Hey, Izuku?" I purred into his ear, bored out of my mind.
"Mhm?" He kept his eyes on the movie.
"Want to cuddle?" I felt his body go warm, and I softly laughed. I prayed he assumed I wanted to do it for show. Although, just seeing the boy in front of me made me crave for him to be in my arms.
"Sure," he whispered back, curling into a ball on my lap. I put one arm around his shoulder, keeping the hand free to ruffle through his hair. My other arm squeezed his waist as he nuzzled into my chest. I bent down, softly kissing his head and I felt his body curl into the ball further.
I believe only Tsu, Aoyama, and Tokoyami noticed us. I was plenty fine with that even if Midoriya wasn't. If I got one wish from a genie right now, I would wish this relationship was real. I was the happiest I've been in years, but the feeling of knowing it's fake lingered. I knew the dates, smiles, and cuddling would stop soon, and my crush would be worse than before. Plus, I would have to watch Uraraka enjoy it.
I just wished he liked me back.
As I watched bubbles rise on the TV, I knew the movie was approaching its end. I figured I had one chance to do what I wanted. Taking my hand away from Midoriya's, I moved it to his thigh. I grabbed it, moving my thumb gently along it. He squeaked.
"That's it," Present Mic groaned. "Todoroki, Midoriya, I'm sorry but you must know the rules, especially since Iida went over it in a PowerPoint presentation yesterday. The holding hands was fine, even the sitting in each other's lap was fine." The lights flickered on, and I felt everyone stare at us. Midoriya's blush grew. "But, I'm afraid I have to give you guys detention for PDA. Even Bakugo and Kirishima know when to pull back. Why do you think they went to his room?"
I started to stutter. "I'll go call your parents to let them know," Mr. Aizawa said, getting up from his spot. The music stopped from the movie, and, this time, I squeaked.
Fuck
No
No
Fuck
"W-wait what are you going to say?" I almost yelled, my voice cracking. I could hear Kaminari quietly mocking me.
"I'll just be telling them you got in trouble for PDA with another student." I sighed in relief, thanking Jesus they wouldn't be telling the other student's gender. "If they request more information, we can have a meeting."
"N-n-no!" I cried out. He raised an eyebrow, but not in an upset way. I took a deep breath. "Just please, can we step out for a second?" Mr. Aizawa nodded, and we stepped outside of the dorms into the cold air.
"Is everything okay, Shoto? You're not in much trouble, just a small detention and phone call home."
"You don't understand, Mr. Aizawa," I begged. "You can't offer a meeting. My Dad will take you up on that offer."
"Is everything fine at home, Shoto?" He placed a hand on my shoulder with eyes of concern.
"Y-" I paused. This could be my way out. I could take the opportunity and tell Mr. Aizawa everything. This could be my direct cry for help instead of just hinting. I wanted to drop down to my knees, cry, and tell him every single detail. Except, what if I really am the abuser?
"Shoto?"
"Yes, everything's fine at home." I cursed myself in my head as I noticed tears welling up.
"Then, I'm sorry, but I will be offering the meeting." Mr. Aizawa stepped back into the dorms before I could get out a protest.
"Fuck!" I yelled, my voice echoing. I put my hands over my head, sitting down on the steps.
