Something sharp pokes at my side, forcing me to open my eyes. I look around, confused for a moment as to why I'm on the forest floor. I struggle to my feet and start walking, hopefully, in the direction of camp.
Monty.
I stop dead, remembering what happened. I pick up the pace, my body still trying to function correctly after being drugged. I don't know how long I was out, but I know it wasn't daytime when I went under. Finally, I hear distant clanging.
I follow the sound, letting out a small sigh of relief when I see that gate. Miller points a gun at me as I come rushing forward. I wave my arms frantically.
"Don't shoot! It's me!" Miller scrambles off the platform and opens the gate, pulling me in. He takes in my disheveled state before pulling me in for a hug.
"Where the hell were you?" He demands, picking a stick out of my hair.
"Drugged on the forest floor." Miller's eyes bulge. "I'll explain later. Where's Bellamy?"
"Oh, shit. Murphy has him locked in the dropship." My heart sinks, and I take off toward the dropship. Octavia turns around and catches me before I run into the dropship door.
"Everlyn? Where were you? Are you okay?" She asks, checking me for significant injuries.
"I'm fine, but they took Monty," I pant. Jasper jogs over at the sound of his best friend's name.
"Who, Everlyn?" He asks, worry creasing his forehead.
"I don't know. Some guys in hazmat suits. I killed one of them but they shot me—"
"They shot you?"
"—with a tranquilizing dart," I finish. I swallow thickly, tears threatening to make an appearance. "If I'd just stayed and fought them, maybe I could have saved Monty and—" Jasper cuts me off.
"There's nothing you could've done. They would've taken you, too, and then we wouldn't know what happened." He pauses, clearly struggling with the next thing he wants to say. "Is he...?" I stare at him blankly before understanding.
"He's alive. They shot him with the same dart. I just- I'm so sorry, Jasper." Jasper holds me, swaying back and forth for a moment before letting me go.
"Shit! You need to talk to Murphy," Jasper says, handing me a walkie.
"Why me?"
"Because you're the reason Bellamy's in this mess," Raven hisses.
"Back off, Raven. Get to work," Octavia snaps. Raven walks around back to get to work on whatever she's doing. I brush off her comment and raise the radio to my lips.
"Murphy? Murphy, it's Ever," I try. A pregnant pause before,
"Everlyn? Are you okay? What happened?"
"I'm fine, Murph. Someone tranqued me. Why do you have Bellamy in there?"
"Because he hanged me, Everlyn. Not only that, he left you go off on your own when he knows it's not safe," he seethes. My heart clenches at his concern, despite his actions because of it.
"I'm fine now, Murphy. I know you're angry he hanged you, but we have to work together to defeat the Grounders. We need everyone, Murphy, including Bellamy."
"They'll kill me."
"I won't let that happen. No one will touch you."
"You can't promise that."
