Sorry Not Sorry

"I'm sorry, (Y/n). I promise I won't do it again."

You don't know how many times you've heard that same line in the last 3 years. You were dating Oikawa Tooru but it seems like all he can do is constantly cheat on you. Every time he did it, he'd apologise and make empty promises.

But you believed him.

Every single time he promised to never do it again, you would believe him and take him back. Why? Simply because you loved him. Because you wanted to believe that he wouldn't do it again.

"Are you really sorry, Tooru?"

Oikawa knew that you would always forgive him. No matter how many times he cheated or stood you up, you'd always forgive him.

"Of course I am, (Y/n)."

Or so he thought.

"You're not sorry, Tooru."

He blinked a couple of times before responding, "What do you mean?"

"You're not sorry, Tooru. You never are. You only apologise to make me stay with you then you cheat again and we go through this again."

You looked at him and tried hard to keep your voice stable.

"You're never sorry, Tooru. You never feel bad for what you've done. If you did, you wouldn't keep cheating on me. I'm done, Tooru."

"W-what? You can't leave me, (Y/n). I'm nothing without you! I love you so much."

You sighed knowing that it would be hard to leave him when he was acting like this. He was saying all the right things but even though you knew he only said all those things to make you stay, a small part of you still wanted to believe it.

"This is your last chance, Tooru."

After a night of torrid love making, you woke up to see Oikawa out of bed and getting dressed. He didn't know you were awake yet so you took this opportunity to observe him. But he turned around a second later and caught you.

"Good morning, babe," Oikawa greeted you with a cheeky grin.

"Morning. Getting ready for work?" You asked.

Oikawa nodded. You stood up and pecked him to peck him on the lips but he pulled you closer and deepened the kiss.

"You better put on some clothes, I don't want to be late for work," Oikawa said and shot you a wink.

You blushed and threw on an old oversized shirt.

"Tooru, do you want to have lunch today?" You asked hopefully.

"I'd loved to but I just have so much work to do today. I probably won't be home till late too. Maybe another time, okay?"

You nodded in understanding and went out into the kitchen to prepare breakfast for him. You made pancakes with a side of bacon and eggs. You laid it out nicely with some fresh fruits and some coffee. Oikawa came rushing out a couple of minutes later.

"Tooru, I made you some breakfast," you said with a soft smile on your face.

"I can't. I don't have time," Oikawa replied in a rush.

"Okay, well I lov-," your sentence was cut short as you heard the door slam signalling Oikawa had left.

He didn't even say goodbye. Well, he did say we had a lot of work to do. He didn't tell me he loves me. He was just in a rush to get to work, I'm sure he loves me.

Oikawa had told you he couldn't have lunch with you today but that didn't stop you. Knowing how much of a hard-worker he was he'd probably forget to eat anything so you decided to surprise him with lunch at work.
