Macies Pov:
I pulled up to school and tried to find a parking spot. I glanced at the time,8:45! "Great," I muttered to myself I was late. Again. I rushed to find a spot to park in, and eventually found a decent one. All of these stupid high schoolers over the lines. I grabbed my bag and began to walk to attendance for a tardy slip.
Once I got to class I quietly handed the teacher my slip ,and took my seat. I turned to Kamri and realized that she wasn't in her normal seat. I looked around the classroom thinking that maybe the teacher moved her. Nope. I discreetly pulled out my phone and texted her. Ten minutes later there was still no answer.
About 30 mins later I was sitting in second period. Still no Kamri. Now I was worried. Why hasn't she called me or texted me? I tried to calm myself down by telling myself possible reasons why she wasn't here:
• her car broke down and her phone died
•her car broke down and she forgot
her phone
•she broke her phone and she's sick
•she's sick and sleeping right nowWhile I continued to think of possible reasons why Kamri was late an office runner brought a note to the teacher. My teacher read it and with a worried expression called out my name," Macie Rivers, this is for you." I slowly got up and took the note with a shaking hand. Why would I be getting a note? I went back to my seat and unfolded it. Four words would change my life forever.
