Last night I cried myself to sleep, and this morning I woke up with a headache because I slept only a couple of hours. Today, I went to Wendy's house to talk to Irene about the trip to Busan.

The wedding was moved earlier, and the week after our trip would all be preparations, and I would help with that. Even if it means breaking my heart.

Wendy gives me a hug and she gives me the letters that she kept, and says that Irene was at her father's house. Still the same when we were in high school. I immediately drive there using my parents' extra car, and there I see it renovated with another floor.

There were cars lined up at the front. I guess Mr. Bae still had his business going strong, but this time it was bigger.

I then knock on the door, only to be engulfed into a tight hug as soon as it opens and reveals Mr. Bae. He starts to shout and I see Irene rushing to his company, but she stops when she sees me.

"Irene! You didn't tell me that Seulgi was home!" He turns to me and leads me inside only to earn weird stares from Irene "How have you been bear!" He teases me and give me a fist bump as I laugh with him.

We were like family, and he shifts his gaze between me and Irene. As soon as he realizes, his eyes become sad and as if they were telling me that he wanted me for his daughter.

If course he knew about the wedding already, afterall he said that he would be planner himself. We had long talks about Irene's wedding, sometimes telling me that he wanted me to be the one standing at that altar, and not someone else.

He told me if ever I asked for Irene's hand in marriage, he would agree instantly.

Simply because he loved me too, and we had a bond that no other friend Irene had, and he said I was perfect for her. He used to look up women's tuxedos for our wedding day. He looked for honeymoon places and secretly told me.

He thought of it deeply.

Our day was planned with such clarity by her father, yet it never came.

And it would never come.

Because she was marrying someone else, and I wondered how much this affected Mr. Bae.

"I'm fine Da-I mean Mr. Bae" I said to him as his face falters even more seeing that I had trouble with the endearment. He loved me and Irene, and I was just her friend. I knew he would show the same love to Wendy and not disrespect her.

"I'm a teacher at a high school in America and I'm planning to travel the world" I said to him and he nods.

"Why are you here?"

"I was just going to talk to Irene about something Mr. Bae" He nodded.

"Can I first talk to you?" I silently nod as I follow him into the garage where he kept his working equipment. There he pulled out a necklace that he used to wear. "Here, take it"

"But why Mr. Bae?"

"You were a big person in my daughter's life Seulgi. This is her mother's necklace and I wore it and I remember you asking me why it looked so feminine. I'm giving this to you because you brought back the Irene I knew, you brought back her happy side because she was mostly a gloomy girl when her mother died, and I thank you for coming into her life" I could hear the sincereness in his voice as I looked at the necklace and held it in my hand.
