Lily Evans wasn't a big fan of James Potter her first 6 years at Hogwarts. She always saw him as a big jerk running around with his silly gang. But this year, something was different. He was different.

He wasn't the arrogant, sassy bully she remembered. Instead he seemed to have to his life somewhat together. He was even Head boy. Although he was still a bit a jerk at times. He never missed an opportunity to hex Snape, but Lily didn't care about it like she used to. Lily could never forgive Severus Snape.

She saw him in a new light. James always tried to get Lily's attention. Only back then she always ignored and rejected him due to his arrogance and overall jerk behavior towards everyone in his way. She honestly hated his attitude. It annoyed her to see him with his little gang causing trouble. She used to think life was better without him.

But this year, she noticed butterflies in her stomach whenever she saw him. 'No.' she thought to herself. 'This is wrong.' But something felt so right. Lily thought she knew James, the annoying, mischievous boy who'd never change, but now she wasn't so sure she did.

There was a Quidditch match today. The match was Gryffindor vs. Ravenclaw. Lily thought Quidditch was interesting and definitely exciting to watch. But she didn't care for it as much as everyone else seemed to. The match was actually the last thing on her mind. All she could think about was James Potter. It was strange. After six years of hating him, she changed her mind in less than one.

While walking to the stands Lily made conversations with her friends. While her friends made bets on the outcome of the match, Lily didn't join in. She wasn't going to risk a sickle unless she was 100% sure Gryffindor would win.

Lily came to a stop as she felt a tap on her shoulder. She turned behind her to see a tall boy in a scarlet and gold sweater. His dark colored hair looked like an absolutely uncontrollable mess that was pushed up from his face by a pair of goggles. Draped on his arm was a matching scarlet and gold quidditch robe with the name 'Potter' written on the back.

"Wish me Luck, Evans?" said James. Lily felt the butterflies and her stomach. Lily's friends turned to see what was going on.

"Good luck." said Lily quietly. James gave her a smile as he began to walk the other way.

Lily watched him as he walked. She smiled. She began to run, like a magnet was pulling her to him. Once she got behind him she reached up to tap his shoulder just as he did to her. James turned around and when he saw her he smiled.

Lily grabbed him by the collar and pulled him into a kiss. James's eyes grew wide. It felt amazing. When they broke apart Lily looked up at him. James's face was bright red and he was smiling ear to ear.

James was speechless. "Lily." James said with a smile. Lily's eyes lit up. He called her Lily. Not Evans, not Red Head, but Lily. The two began to laugh.

"Meet me in the common room later." Lily told him. James gave a nod. He still had the biggest smile on his face. Just then he turned the other way and began to walk.

"Hey, Potter." called Lily. James looked over his shoulder again, "You better win that match." James gave her a wink and ran off. As Lily turned to catch up to her friends she heard a voice shout.

"PADFOOT! PADFOOT! YOU WON'T BELIEVE WHAT JUST HAPPENED!" Lily blushed as she burst out laughing.

When Lily caught up with her friends they looked at her with a smirk.

"One Galleon that Gryffindor wins the match." said Lily. Yep, that's right. Not a Sickle, but a Galleon.

"Alright. You're on!" agreed another girl.

Long story short, Lily left the stands one Galleon richer.
