Kinna slapped at the water as Hinata washed her hair, Ovinna sat in the water before her and washed her body."I can do such things as these by myself," Kinna pouted, staring enviously at Ovinna's larger breasts.
"My lady, if you keep staring at me so, your eyes may fall out," Ovinna warned her. Where was her handmaiden's discomfort she'd had when Vior was naked before her.
"Vior," Kinna hissed, making Ovinna blush and satisfying herself.
Hinata pulled her hair back and clicked her tongue, "I thought you were going to be a mature lady of the Faden? Not a child."
Kinna resisted the urge to haul Hinata into the water, proving her right would be more irritating.
She started crying uncontrollably, Ovinna and Hinata embracing her as she quivered, she was so frustrated at her lack of pregnancy and found herself trying to pick fights with her friends. Kinna felt... pathetic.
"It will be fine, Lady Kinna. I am sure you will soon be with child," Ovinna assured her.
"Indeed, after all, you have been through, I am sure God will bless you," Hinata added.
"I am sorry, my actions these last weeks have been unbecoming of me. Can you ever forgive me?" Kinna said after holding back her tears.
Her handmaidens squeezed her tightly and Kinna felt reassured, also jealous, but mainly relieved that they were still her friends.
Once they were out of the bath, Ovinna dried her before Hinata dressed her in a black kimono fringed with blue and patterned with pink blossom.
"Lord Vior will not be able to resist you," Hinata assured her, tying Kinna's hair at the nape of her neck.
Kinna clenched her fists, she would be pregnant before leaving on her trip to visit her family.
Vior returned home on time and Kinna let the staff take care of him, she would tease him a little before having her way with him. Her handmaidens had giggled upon hearing her plan, saying she was such a tease, that had made Kinna smile... she liked the relaxed atmosphere between them now, as it had been back when she lived with her family.
"My lady," Vior said suddenly, breaking Kinna from her thoughts.
Before she could react, Vior had cast aside his robe and picked her up, kissing her and loosening Kinna's kimono. As he lay her down the kimono fell open, Vior wasted no time before having his way with her, lying beside her a few minutes later.
"You were so aggressive, my husband," Kinna whispered before kissing his forehead.
"It is your fault, my wife. For teasing me so... not seeing your husband upon his return," he replied with a chuckle.
Kinna brushed his hair aside and looked down upon his naked body. "You could have waited for my handmaidens to leave at least."
Vior's face reddened, though it was nothing compared to Ovinna and Hinata's who almost glowed from the embarrassment.
"My apologies ladies," Vior said shyly, covering his lower body with Kinna's kimono hem.
"You may leave," Kinna said to them smiling, her friends giggling as they did so.
"You seem happier now," Vior commented as he stroked her hair.
"I made my peace..." she replied, tears welling up in her eyes.
Vior gently pulled her down upon his chest. "There's no rush, we have many years to have children. As long as I have you, Kinna, I will be happy."
Kinna nodded and Vior sneezed loudly, jolting her momentarily as he did so. She put a hand on his forehead, his temperature was almost boiling over.
"How did you get this far in your state?" she scolded him. "Ovinna, Hinata. Blankets and cold water, my idiot husband is burning with fever!"
Vior babbled nonsense as her handmaidens fetched what she'd asked for, her husband trying to pull her down and remove her clothing several times... it was like he was a dog in heat.
After a while, and with the help of Vior's blackguards, they managed to hold him down and tuck him tightly into the blankets. Kinna was fretting though, she was to travel to her father's home tomorrow. How could she leave Vior like this?
As the night wore on, Ovinna entered the room and changed the damp cloth upon Vior's forehead.
"Ovinna?" Kinna asked from beside the window, a shawl wrapped around her shoulders embroidered with the black dragon.
Ovinna shot upright, afraid at the sudden break in the silent night, "Yes, my lady?"
"Will you come here, Ovinna?" Kinna asked, patting the matt beside her.
Ovinna came over and knelt obediently before Kinna took her hand and gently caressed it.
"I will not leave my husband alone with this illness, but for the sake of our alliance with my father, I must leave tomorrow... before winter sets in," Kinna started. "Will you stay and take care of Vior in my stead?"
Ovinna shook and started to tear up, she must have felt scared to be parted from her. It had been years since such a thing had happened after all.
With visible effort, Ovinna composed herself. "Of course, my lady. I will take care of Lord Vior in your absence."
Kinna opened her arms and Ovinna embraced her, the two women embracing until they fell asleep.
