"That's Michael ." She states with her mouth still wide open.

I give her a smile. Not a serious one, but sort of a mocking one.

"He's like the second hottest guy in this school, every girl here is thirsty for him. Plus, his family is like super rich." She says.

"That explains a lot" I whisper to myself.

I give her an awkward nod before I hear the voice of a stranger behind me.

"Hey, baby. Who's your friend?" He says.

"This is Caitlin, she's new. She's from England."

"Oh really..." His voice sounds familiar.

He takes a seat next to me and that's when I realize just how familiar it is.I look to my right to see Luke. Luke is Emma's boyfriend.

"You must be Emma's new friend. I'm Luke." He gives me a big smile.

My heart dropped. I knew he wasn't a big fan of mine, but I never imagined in my wildest dreams that he would just pretend not to know who I am.

"Caitlin." I smile as I shake his hand.

All I heard was silence. I was frozen in my seat. I tried to search my mind for an excuse to get up and leave. I couldn't seem to find an excuse to leave.

"Oh, shit, I forgot it was froyo day. Anyone want one?" Emma nearly shouts out of nowhere.

"Sure." Me and Luke mumble in sync.

Emma gets up to go get the frozen yogurt and leaves me and Luke alone.

He moves to sit right in front of me. I try to get up but he grabs and holds my wrist.

"She cannot know you live in my house. You can't tell her." For the first time since I got here, he is actually looking me in the eye.

"Are you actually broken? She is your girlfriend. Why are you hiding stuff from her?" I spit back.

"Not to be rude, but I'm just not interested in everyone knowing that my mum let in some... stray dog. It's kind of bad for my image" he says with a disgusted look.

"Right. That wasn't rude at all don't worry about it." My voice is slightly shaky.

"I got us all lemon." I hear Emma's voice as she approaches the table.

She looks at me. "Cait, what's wrong? You look upset."

I could never tell anyone this, but having just one friend on the first day meant something to me. I just wish she wasn't with him.

"Yeah, no, I'm fine.  I just forgot my allergy medication at my hotel, so I should probably go." I say getting up to leave.

I didn't have any classes after lunch anyway, so I headed back to the  house.
