It was a nice day out so Trixie had decided that she was going to spend it with Laurie…. And Amy.

They spent the whole day, going on walks. Laurie spent the whole day flirting with all the girls except Trixie. He thought he would make her jealous, and it was working, but Trixie was not about to let her emotions show. If he didn’t love her any more than she should wish him all the happiness with the one he chose to love, even if it broke her heart to do so. She was simply gazing at him when a thought struck her. She decided to just lay down next to him, and pick out the shapes of the clouds. Amy had decided to go walking with Fred. Finally, she could take it no longer.

“Laurie, when are you going back to your grandfather?” She turned her head to get a better view of Laurie “It’s just that you have been here for months, and your grandfather is such a lonely person, and I’m sure he misses you too”

Laurie rolls his eyes before moving so he rests on his elbows

“Very soon”

“You’ve said that a dozen times in the past month.” Trixie reminds him, as she stands up and begins to sketch him for fun.

“Short answers save trouble.” This time it was Trixie’s turn to roll her eyes

“He expects you, so why don’t you do it?” Trixie softens her voice

“Natural depravity, I suppose.” Laurie looked away, for he knew if he looked into her eyes he would cave.

“Natural indolence, you mean.” she scoffs

“I’ll only plague him if I go, so I might as well stay and plague you a little longer. You can bear it. ” He sits up, reaching to her he tickles her sides while she tries to ward him off. They eventually calmed down but not before getting a couple of stink eyes from the couple walking past. Laurie stares, he couldn’t help it. She had this pale beauty that just gripped him-

“What are you doing?” He jerked out of his thoughts

“I’m looking at you.” He replies cheekily. She blushes, dropping her gaze

“No, I mean what do you intend, to do” she looks him in the eyes

“Oh, you mean with life?”

“Well yeah” Trixie replies still trying to draw Laurie

“I’ve been writing an opera, I’d be the central figure...” Laurie stopped when he saw the look on Trixie’s face.

“That’s a waste of time, Lu,” she tells him

“What would you have me do?” He asks catching her eye, they have a staring contest. Finally, Trixie breaks contact, replying

“Go back and work for your grandfather and make something of yourself.” Laurie scoffs again, before standing up and walking towards the house. Trixie stands up too and gives Laurie the sketch saying

“Here” he looks at it before he saw another sketch peeking out from underneath. It was another sketch of him.

“When did you do this one?” he shows her the sketch

“I didn’t, it was Amy. I asked her for it, at the beginning of the Europe tour”

“Didn’t know you cared that much” He snapped, but immediately regretted it when he saw the hurt on Trixie’s face.

“What did I do to deserve a comment like that?” She whispers averting her eyes.

“I didn’t mean it like that” Laurie grabbed Trixie’s arm before she could walk away.
