Chapter 2 - Rex's First Morning

The next morning the sunlight of a new day starts to pour in the windows of the lookout, as the pups slowly start to stir and wake up.

"Ug. What time is it?" Rex asks, starting to wake up.

"Mmff...about 8:00. Time to wake up." Chase said as he yawned and gave a big stretch in his bed. "How did you sleep last night Rex?"

"Wow. I overslept." Rex says as he stretches.

Chase tilted his head in surprise. "Really? What time do you usually wake up?"

"Usually like right before the sun rises." Rex says, replying to Chase's question.

Chase smiled at this. "Me too. But Ryder said that we could sleep in a little today so that you could take your time and get used to being at the lookout."id that we could sleep in a little today so that you could take your time and get used to being at the lookout."

"Wait how long have you been awake?" Rex asks with a yawn at the end.

"Oh I only just woke up too." Chase said.

"Oh." Rex says.

"Mhm...did you sleep well Rex?" Chase asked again, looking over at him.

"I slept really well." Rex says as he rolls over. "Oh. I forgot I had this on. What should I do with it?" Rex asks as he looks at his diaper.

"Well, do you need a change?" Chase asked as he got out of bed and walked over to him.

"What do you mean?" Rex asked confused.

"Did you...you know...go in it?" Chase asked.

"I don't know. I don't feel those things cause my lower half is paralyzed." Rex says as he looks at the diaper.

"There should usually be an indicator on the front of the diaper to tell you if you've used it or not. Something that fades or changes color." Chase said.

"Can you check? I can't really tell." Rex says blushing.

"Sure bud, if you want me to." Chase said as he lifted back one of the leakguards of the diaper and checked inside for pee or poop.

"It looks like you peed a bit last night, bud. Your diaper is wet." Chase said as he felt wetness in the padding.

"Oh. I usually am. What do I do?" Rex asks the shepherd.

"Well would you like me to change you, or do you want to do it yourself?" Chase asked.

"I don't know how to do that." Rex says truthfully.

"Alright, then I'll help you out. Do you want me to put another diaper on you?" Chase asked as he went to grab some of the changing supplies.

"Do you think i should put a new one on?" Rex asks Chase.

"Well given that you said that you can't control your bladder and bowels, and given how much you wet last night, probably should just to be safe." Chase said after some thinking.

"Oh. Ok." Rex says.

"Unless you don't want to. It has to be your choice bud, I won't make it for you." Chase said setting up the changing supplies next to Rex's bed.

"Well its just that i feel kind of silly having to wear a puppy thing when everyone else doesn't have to, and doesn't wear them." Rex says blushing.

"Ah buddy, no one's gonna make fun of you for needing them. No one likes having an accident, so this is just a way for you to manage it. If anyone tries to make fun of you, they'll be talked to and punished for it; there's no room for bullies in this family. But I'll tell you what: if you still feel silly about it, I can wear one of my pull ups with you. That way you don't have to feel alone." Chase said kindly.
