"Was this too sudden?" He asked. "No, no. I.. it caught me off guard, but I'm glad you finally said something to me." He released a low chuckle, while bringing my body to his; as if we couldn't get any closer. I closed my eyes and inhaled his scent. He smelled of my aroma and faded cologne. I thought to myself, maybe I can get use to this. Me and Alex. Alex and me. A sly smile formed across my lips. Who would have thought, we'd be in this position right now? Me and Alex, kissed! We touched, we saw parts of our bodies that weren't meant to be seen; but it felt right. He felt right. I inched myself even closer to him, resting my head on his chest as my legs laid across his waist. "Sleepy?" He asked. I nodded slowly, allowing myself to drift into a slumber.
                                          * * * *
"Daze." "Mmmm." I groaned while subconsciously swatting his hand away. "Daze, wake up." "Whyyy?" "Your parents have been calling you." My eyes sprung wide open at the sound of your parents. My parents are typically nice fellows, but tend to worry more than usual if I don't give them an update of my whereabouts. I sat up quickly, ignoring the fact that I had a puddle of drool on his pillow. I began to dial my parents back. Nervously. Ring, ring, ring. "Dazie Ann. Exactly, where are you!?" Based upon the tone of my mother's voice, I knew she wasn't pleased; she definitely wouldn't be pleased if she knew what me and Alex did. Facepalm.

"I'm at Alex's, mom. It's Friday, you know we—"Daze, I understand you have a life outside of your home. But there are times, where you need to be home." "Moooomm," I groaned. "Dazie, I don't care. You have 10 minutes, 20 tops, to make it in this door." Click. I released an annoyed sigh. "Ugh." "What's wrong babe?" BABE? WHAT? So, we're giving each other pet names now?

"I have to go home, Ale." I said his name, hoping that he caught the hint, that we aren't quite official yet. He hasn't even asked me to be his girlfriend. So, what were we? "Do you want me to drop you off home?" "No, no. It's fine. I'm sure my mom doesn't want to see your car right now. She's super upset. Besides, I live down the street, remember?" He nodded in agreement, understanding. "Well, let me at least pack you some snacks." He exited the room as I started to slip my clothes on quickly.

By the time he returned, I had my clothes on. He handed me a zip-lock bag with my favorite cookies: Famous Amos. I blushed lightly at his amazing remembrance. "My favorite." "You know, I know what you like." He replied smoothly, while gripping my waist, tugging me closer. I wrapped my arms around his shoulders and gazed into his eyes lovingly. "You do know me." I bit my bottom lip softly, hoping he caught the hint that I wanted my lips touched. He did.

"I'll call you tomorrow. Maybe, we'll make some plans if mom dukes isn't upset." He said. We were outside his doorstep, and I was getting prepared to start walking home. More than certain that 20 minutes passed, and my mom would let me have it when I stepped foot in the house. "Definitely, I'll let you know." We kissed again, and I began my journey. 5 minutes into my walk, my phone started to vibrate. I looked at the unfamiliar number and answered.

"Hello?"
"Forgot about me?" The voice sounded familiar.
"Uh, I don't think so." I replied, giggling lightly.
"It's me. Oscar." My eyes widened.
"Oh! I'm sorry, I didn't save your number. I forgot, I got super carried away. I—
"It's cool," He said interjecting me while laughing. "No need to get upset about it. I understand."
I exhaled a sigh. "I'm glad you do."
The call became quiet for some time, until he finally asked, "So, what's up? What are you doing?"
"Well, I'm walking home right now."
"Cool. From where?"
"My best friend's house. Alex."
"Ah, cool cat I saw earlier."
"Yup, that's him!"
Silence again.

"So, Daze? Dazie? I'm not too sure which to call you. I don't want to overstep any boundaries and call you your nickname without your consent."
I waved my hand in the air while pushing my eyebrows together in disagreement.
"No, no. No such thing. You can call me Daze."
"Cool. So, Daze, have any plans tomorrow?"

I felt my heart in the pit of my stomach at that question. I may have plans tomorrow with Alex. But what would I tell him? I can't come or hang because Oscar wants to? Or do I tell Oscar, "Sorry can't hang! I may have plans with my best friend, who I just had sex with!" Ugh!

"Hello?" My thoughts were cut short. As usual.
"Y-yeah, I'm here." I stuttered.
"Do you have plans?" He asked again.
"I-I'm not too sure yet. Why?" My curiosity was beginning to strike.
"I wanted to go out to eat. Or maybe watch that new movie. I think it's a horror film, you want to check it out?" Well, at least he's giving me some plans.
"I'll let you know. My mom is going kinda haywire tonight, since I'm not home."
"I'll sneak you out the window. You can be my rupunzel." He laughed lightly, but I can tell from his tone he was serious and ready to risk seeing me. Whatever it took.
"Ahhh, I'll text you, I'm walking in my home right now." I was trying to avoid saying yes, and ditching Alex. Or ditching Oscar to be with Alex.
"Okay."
Click.

I crept into the house, lightly shutting the door behind me. "Ann! Don't fool me! Sneaking in here!" I rolled my eyes and took off my shoes before stepping foot onto the carpet. My mom was strict about that, not so much my dad. He was calmer.  "Mom, it's barely 10:00 pm and I'm home." "I said 10 minutes, 20 minutes top." She said while folding her arms. "Mom, I was at Alex's". I waved my zip-lock bag for proof. "Mmhm. Okay. Sometimes, I just want you home sweetie." She started to walk towards me and I met her halfway giving her a hug. "I know, mom. I'm here." I pulled away. "Where's dad?" She sighed, replying "In the living room, watching Jeporady re-runs." "Without me!?" I shrieked and ran past my mom into the living room. "Without me?!" I asked again, but this time for him to hear. He turned his head to the side, making eye contact with me. "Without you, squirt." "Daddy, why?" I pleaded. "This is our show." I threw my hands up in disbelief, allowing them to fall at my sides. "You were with Alex." He mocked. "This weekend, we'll watch all of our shows!" I smiled and kissed him on the cheek, and turned around in eagerness to call Oscar. "Okay, sweetpea." He replied loud enough for me to hear as I pranced away.

I plopped into my bed and pulled out my phone to begin my texting. I'll text Alex first, so he knows I'm safe and I haven't been attacked by a bear.

Dazie: I'm home!
  . . .
Alex: Great. How's the cookies?
Dazie: Savin' em!
Alex: What's the occasion?
Dazie: Havent figured that out yet.
Alex: Let me know when you do.
