My heart was beating a million miles per second. Someone I know.. But who? The one person I wanted to call and vent to, I couldn't. Alex and I haven't spoken since the last incident between him
and Laney. I felt betrayed by him, there's no way I could vent to him about this. I sighed while running my fingers through my curls, glancing down at my keyboard. It sucks not having a bunch of friends to talk to.

Chime, chime.

I looked up and noticed I received a notification message. I opened my inbox and saw a Facebook message from Yazmeen.

YazzyBoo: Heeeeeeey girl!
Dazie: Hey, Yaz. What's up?
YazzyBoo: Girl, I realize I ain't have yo #
Dazie: 714-657-8901
YazzyBoo: Imma text u now!

Maybe I could vent to Yazmeen.

Yazmeen: It's Yazzy!
Dazie: Hey!
Yazmeen: Wyd?
Dazie: Nothing much, just got home.
Yazmeen: Want to chill?
Dazie: Yes, I do need someone to vent to.
Yazmeen: I got u girl. Just us girls!!

A jolt of excitement rushed through my veins. Perhaps, Yazmeen and I could be good friends and I can slowly open up to her about the madness that's been going on. I sent her my address, and picked out my outfit. My favorite high waisted light blue jeans, slightly cuffed with white and black converse, along with a plain white crop top tee.

After what felt like an hour, Yazmeen finally texted me and asked me to come outside. Before leaving the house, I made sure to text my mom of where I'll be and surprisingly she was okay with me going out. Maybe she felt bad for me, because I didn't have a bunch of friends.

I locked the house door and walked to Yazmeen's baby blue civic, sitting down in the passenger seat. Her car smelled of sweet vanilla with a faint smell of marijuana. "Wassup girl!" She yelled as I buckled my seatbelt. "Nothing much," I replied giggling at her loudness. "Girl, so we finna go to my house real quick, before makin' some moves. That's coo' with you?" She asked while driving out of my driveway. "Where are we going?" I asked. She sucked her teeth and waved her hand in the air, while the other kept busy on the steering wheel. "Don't worry bout all of that!"

I shrugged my shoulders, and proceeded to look out of the window. She blasted her radio the entire ride to her house, leaving no room for us to talk. I suppose we will have more time to talk at her house before making her errands. We finally pulled into her driveway. Her neighborhood was slightly different from mine. She wasn't in a terrible neighborhood, but I can tell it was moreso on the poor side. "Okay girl, we here." She said as we exited out of her car. I flung my mini bookbag over my shoulders and entered her home, after she unlocked the door.

As I walked into her house, I noticed a brown skin guy watching ESPN on the couch. I couldn't see his face, as his back was facing us as we entered. "You can wait here, Im finna grab somethin' from my room." She said. I nodded and awkwardly found a chair to sit in by the dining room, away from the mysterious guy sitting on the couch not too far off from me. I glanced around her home, staring at family photos, baby photos, and art work that hung on the walls of the dining and living area. "Hahahaha!" I moved my eyes towards the laughter, as my body stayed present. It was coming from the guy on the couch. Please, turn your head slightly. I want to see you. I admired the back of his neck, and noticed a small tattoo in red of lipstick. His hair was trimmed nicely, with twists flowing down right above his tattoo. I shook my head slowly, trying to escape my thoughts. I can't be curious about other men, I'm with Oscar! And this could be Yazmeen's boyfriend, for all I know.

Yazmeen finally returned from her room, and walked over to the couch where the guy was sitting. "Wassup! Why you ain't say hi to my friend?" She asked him. I heard him lightly kiss his teeth, replying in a deep voice, "I ain't know you brung somebody in here." "Yes! D, come here girl!" She said, while smiling and motioning her hand over for me to walk.
