Chapter Two

" Okay , bye Amber see you tomorrow " I said walking out the school doors. Today was a long but happy and exciting day. A lot happened that I'm still smiling about but sometimes it's nice to just go home and relax. For some reason things still just don't feel right even though almost everything worked out today. I guess maybe I just feel a bit guilty about being a part of Allyssa and Mason breaking up.

As I drifted out of thought Kate sat down into the bus seat with me. " How was your day ? " She asked. Kate and I may be in the same class and be friends but just like anyone she has her best friends that she hangs out with all the time. Like I always hangout with Amber and Esther.

" It was fairly good , what about you? How was your day ? " I questioned in return.

" It was a regular boring and dreadful school day " She answered. I nodded in understanding. " Have you and Mason talked today ? " Just as she said that he walked down the bus aisle way and sat down in his seat which was directly beside us. " Speak of the devil " Kate muttered.

I giggled a little. " If you talk about someone they are bound to walk into the room or sit down next to you in this case. But to answer your question , no we haven't " I told her. As Mason took out his earphones from his pocket our bus driver came down the aisle then stopped at our row of seats.

" Conlyn isn't on tonight so you two and Mason can sit in the back " Then he turned around and went back to the front of the bus. Kate and I quickly ran into the back and sat down into Conlyn's seat together while Mason took the seat beside us. Kate looked at me and cleared her throat , gesturing that I should say something to Mason. I wasn't trying to be rude by not talking , I just wasn't quite sure what he'd think would be an interesting subject.

And if you're thinking well if you texted someone for a full day don't you think you should know something to talk about. It's a lot more difficult then everyone says it is , to talk to your crush.

As the three of us sat there in silence Kate pulled out a snack from her lunch pale. Mmm , food sounds good right now , I haven't eaten all day. I reached down under the bus seat and pulled out my backpack then opened the front pouch and pulled out my lunch kit. Maybe some chips will do. After I took the chips out I put my lunch kit back into my backpack and threw it under the seat again.

I opened the bag and slouched into the seat , putting my knees up.

Kate and I sat there eating and talking about random things and laughing so hard my stomach started to hurt and I had tears in my eyes. It was just one of those bus rides where Kate and I had jokes coming out of nowhere.

" It scared me so much" She said in between laughing fits. Even though Mason had one earphone in and was looking out the window you could tell he was listening to us because he would smile the odd time at something we would say.

Our laughter began to die down then a familiar song came on. Kate and I looked at each other then broke out into song. " If you want it. Take it. I should've said it before. Tried to hide it but yeah I can't pretend anymore " I wonder if we were annoying any of the people on our bus with the terrible singing we were doing. " This is , the part when I say I don't wanna , I'm stronger than I've been before this is , the part when I break free 'cause I can't resist it no more " Mason was most defiantly listening now , he was looking at us and laughing.

Kate and I continued. " And in my dreams it felt so right but I woke up every time , oh baby " once the song ended Kate and I sat there just laughing for no damn reason at all , other than the fact we just bursted out singing an Ariana Grande song on the bus , very loud might I add. Plus we suck at singing and another thing I did this in front of my crush. Wow putting it that way I feel stupid. I just sang terribly in front of the person I really like.

" I'll see you tomorrow Bree " Kate said grabbing her bag and standing up.

" Yeah , have a good night " I replied. She left and slowly glanced at Mason but he was already looking at me. I smiled then he smiled too.

" Can I sit with you ? " He asked.

" Yeah sure " I nodded. He slid over into the seat with me. I finally built up enough courage to say something to him. " Kate couldn't keep it straight tonight " I said referring to her laughing at everything.

He laughed lightly. " yeah , you two together are absolutely crazy "

" Well I think you need to get to know me more because that's my normal self " I told him. He smiled and looked at me.

" In that case you should act like your normal self around me all the time. I like it " My cheeks began to heat up an I knew I was blushing so I looked towards the window. I heard Mason chuckle.

" You really know how to make girls swoon over you now don't ya " I said turning back to face him.

" You think I just go around flirting with every girl I see ? "

" That's not what I meant " I rushed. " I just mean that like almost every girl our school likes you" I covered.

" I know what you meant but most girls only date me because .... Uhm never mind. It's my stop I'll probably text you tonight " He left me there wondering what he was going to say.
