Chapter Five

So turns out Mason got in trouble yesterday - no surprise - but then he got an in school suspension for today until twelve. What a great first day to our relationship , he could've at least told me he got in trouble so I would know ahead of time. I mean seriously I only came to school today for him , if he hadn't of begged me to come I could be sitting at home in front of the fireplace sipping tea , watching T.V and maybe even sleeping.

Man I sound like a bitch. It's not his fault he probably didn't even know he got a in school suspension until this morning when Mr. McDonald took him. I gotta stop jumping to conclusions and getting mad .... and maybe even stop talking to myself so much. " Oh my god people , shut up !" Amber yelled across the cafeteria.

Esther and I just laughed. " Who's bright idea was it anyway to allow grade ones in here , like jeez " yeah all the grade eights were a bit stressed because they made a decision to let the grade ones eat in the cafeteria and it used to only be grade four to eight in here. It was incredibly stupid though , like it was already cramped in here before. The grade seven and eights used to have two tables , now we get one.

" I'm pretty sure that was Ms. Height an Mr. McDonald " Esther said matter of factly. Amber glared at Esther as she laughed. I sadly glanced at the clock and sighed , it's only ten forty. " Bree he's gonna be free in like an hour or so" Esther reassured me.

I looked to Amber who was giving me the look. " What ? " I asked with a bit of edge. Amber has been my best friend for a while and we know everything there is to know about each other.

" Ouuu you've got it bad " she breathed. I rolled my eyes then the bell rang. " Oh shit now I'm hearing wedding bells " she laughed so hard at her own joke that she had her head down on the table. Esther was laughing too but it wasn't nearly as bad as Amber.

" Yeah well while you two gut yourselves laughing I'm gonna get back to class " Amber gave me a thumbs up. I'm guessing because she couldn't really speak. As I walked down the hall Dalton , from my class jogged up to me. " Hey Dalton " I chriped.

" So did you just like suddenly forget about Seth "

" Whoah talk about getting right to the point. Not even a hey , hi , how's it going ? " I wasn't trying to be rude it's just I didn't really wanna talk about Seth. Seth is a guy in grade seven that I started talking to a lot at the beginning I this year , he's really nice and yes I started to like him and he liked me but he never asked me out or anything. As for Dalton he's his cousin and next door neighbor.

" Oh right , sorry. Hey Aubrey , how's it going ? " Before I could answer he started talking again. " I bet it's going great with your new boyfriend , eh ? "

" Dalton c'mon , we both know Seth wasn't going to ask me out okay ? " He stopped walking and so did I.

" Actually he was going to "

I sighed. " Well I'm sorry. And I'll try and break it to him nicely about the whole me and Mason situation "

" No need for that Aubrey , he already knows " Then he left and continued walking down the hallway. Trust me Seth really did mean a lot to me , like whenever I was feeling down or something he would say something nice and heart warming to make the situation seem less down breaking. But the bad part to all of this is when Mason and I first started talking I told Seth I wasn't into him because of his gangster shit and now ... well now Seth probably thinks I'm a back stabbing , two faced bitch whore.

I finally made it to our classroom and I took a seat. No matter how hard I actually tried to concentrate and listen what Dalton said to me just kept aggravating me more and more. I pulled my phone out from the back of my desk and messages him.

Me : I heard from Dalton that you know about me and Mason ?

I slowly pushed my phone a little bit into my desk so Ms. Schall wouldn't see what I was doing. It was about twenty minutes later when Seth answered me.

Seth : Yeah I heard this morning from Finn. You two are the talk of the school right now lol

Me : Oh okay. Are you alright though ?

This time he texted back almost right away.

Seth : Yeah I guess , I just think he wouldn't treat you right .....

That kinda made me stop for a second. I know Mason is kinda a player and stuff but I've talked to him a lot as he actually wants a long term relationship. He said to me that he was tired of skipping from girl to girl all the time.

Me : I don't really know what to say

Seth : You don't have to say anything :)

I pushed the power button on my phone and pushed it back into my desk , leaving the conversation right there. I must have been so lost for a while because I had no clue what subject we were even in all I knew is that it was eleven twenty. Forty more minutes until Mason gets out of the office.
