X reached the woman sword in hand, but there was no immediate threat. "What is it? Out with it woman!" But she pointed at the ground wordlessly, X looked down seeing nothing he was confused then he realized what was going on. Slowly he extended his hand and smiled as it encountered resistance off the ground. Slowly he closed his hand and pulled on the invisible fabric revealing the pale face of Lucas.

X nearly leapt into the air in triumph but he contained himself. Working quickly he loosened the tie on the cloak Lucas was wearing, pulling it far enough that the elf's entire body became visible. His legs were trapped under a thick trunk, his right arm also seemed stuck under a pile of debris. X checked the fallen elf's vitals, he was still breathing though shallowly. Waving several men over he gestured for them to brace themselves against the trunk and lift it. As soon as the wood was lifted X yanked on Lucas pulling him free, amazed that he didn't wake up.

After sending a boy back to fetch a length of rope X freed Lucas's arm as well. Binding him, X scooped up the large man with little difficulty and carried him into the village. Several men and women flanked him watching for any signs of movement in the captive, but Lucas never stirred.

They put him in the council house, a small room had been hollowed out below in the stone. the only entrance was a single  trap door in the ceiling. X dropped Lucas into the tiny room with little cerimony, waving off any inquiries after the medical care. Then he headed to the oaken council chambers to report his sucess.
