Nevermore

Nevermore, Nevermore,
The black raven crows.
You can't escape it,
From above or below.
It haunts you like a ghost,
A being of the past.
You don't know know much longer,
Your sanity can last.

Nevermore, Nevermore,
Fearful child inside your chest,
Making your heart beat faster,
Giving your mind no rest.
Your muscles are clenching,
Your fingers tremble and stretch.

Nevermore, Nevermore
Do you smell that sweet scent?
Of life whom you can't run away from,
Your weak bones turned into cement,
As you fall down that dark hole,
Too deep to crawl out of,
To weep till the end.

Nevermore, Nevermore,
You taught me of happy endings,
Only to strip me of my hope,
Only to drag me with you,
Down where the sun never shone,
Down where despair howls.

Nevermore, nevermore,
The raven tightens the gyre.
My words caught in my throat.
I am lost to love and desire.
No more games for children,
When games consist of garrote's wire.
Put it all away and make a snare,
To the raven who mocks, and calls me "Liar."

Nevermore, Nevermore,
You can't escape its call;
No matter how much you struggle;
You will always fall.
The voice continues to haunt you,
Until your last breath;
You will never get respite,
Even in death.
