It had been two whole days since Kairi last saw Mattia. He had been hanging out with Robert a lot more since he was the only one who rarely spoke to mattia.
Kairi arrived a little earlier than he was used to, he sat at the steps of the school waiting for Robert to show up. "Kairi!" The smaller lofted his head up- hoping to see Robert but he knew that voice.
"D-did you need something Mattia?" he was scared shitless. Yea it's been just two days but it's been a long ass two days.
"I-I just want to talk." he kneeled before Kairi placing his hand on his chin to make him look at him.
"Please.."
Kairi almost gave in. Key word, almost.
A loud yet soft voice was heard calling for Kairi.
"Kai! There you are! Geez you're- oh, hey Mattia." He said with a ' genuine ' kind smiled.
"Hey Robert. Um, do you mind Kairi and I were kind of talking." Mattia said with a cold tone which Robert chose to ignore,
"Actually Mattia, Kairi and I already have things to do so just talk to him after school." Robert reaches out his hand to help Kairi up and he took it.
Kairi dusted himself off, thanking Robert then turning to Mattia.
"Kairi. Please I just want to talk."
The wasian stared for a second before speaking up. "Well I'm right here so you might as well say it."
"I-I'm so sorry. Okay? Please just- let's work this out okay? You mean so much to me, I-I just don't- no, I can't lose you. So please can we just fix this?"
Robert stood beside Kairi with his head down. He didn't know why but hearing Mattia day those things to Kairi made him feel... upset.
He knew if Mattia cried take me back that Kairi would most likely take him back, it was inevitable.
He knew Mattia was no good, he knew that if he let Kairi talk to Mattia they would end up together again and Kairi would be hurt. Again.
'I can't let that happen.' Robert cleared his throat gaining their attention.
"Babe, we should go now." He said with a soft smile that made Kairis face light up. Kairi thought nothing of the nickname since Robert calls everyone that- but to Mattia he didn't like it one bit.
"Don't call him babe." Mattia said catching Roberts attention.
"I call everyone babe Mattia. And what right do you have being jealous ?" Robert walked up to Mattia, the two face to face as students started gathering in the school.
"What?" Mattia glared at Robert as he walked closer.
"Nothing Mattia. Absolutely nothing." Robert softly grabbed kairis wrist leading him inside of the building, leaving Mattia alone and pissed.
Robert ended up dragging Kairi to the restrooms locking the door behind them.
"R-robert? What's up?"
Kairi spoke up feeling a little nervous but deciding to not think about it at the moment
"Kai, I know you care about him but you can't just go back every time he says he's sorry."
The small boy held his head down now realizing the reason the elder dragged him to the restroom.
"I-I know but you don't understand. I have been patient all my life. I was patient when you asked me to wait, then I lost you. I was patient with Eli now he's gone. I'm not going to be patient anymore I-"
Kairi was full on crying, tears running down his face as Robert softly pulled him in for a hug.
"Shh Kai. It's ok I'm right here." Robert softly pet kairis hair letting him calm down before they head to class.
"I just don't want you to hurt anymore Kairi. I love you, you're one of my best friends I hate seeing you upset." Kairi sniffles feeling a warm sensation in his chest.
"I know."
