Tigerkit was the first kit to wake, trying to wake his brother and sister. Devilkit didn't seem too happy that he was being woken up early in the morning. Leopardtail lay curled up, her speckled fur shining in the morning sun, a tiny tortoiseshell she-kit curled up against her. The tortoiseshell yawned, opening her silver eyes to the world, her tiny paws twitching with excitement.

Tigerkit leaped at her, the kit squeaking in protest. Both tumbled out into the camp, happily batting at each other. The camp was slowly waking up, birds singing and a slight cold breeze blowing through. Leafbare was finally coming to an end.

"Frostkit, Tigerkit. Be careful. You could freeze out here." Sunstar greeted the kits.

"But our noses aren't blue yet." Tigerkit whined a bit, his sister standing next to him, nodding.

"Just be careful." The leader purred softly, padding to the warrior's den to wake his deputy.

The tortoiseshell watched as the tabby snuck over to the entrance. "I wonder what it's like out there."

"Tigerkit. Mama says we can't go out there." Frostkit sat next to him.

"They won't even notice." The tabby boldly stated, charging out into the forest. She didn't like it, but she had no choice, she thought to herself. She darted after him.

The tabby stood on top of a tree stump. He had kicked all the snow off, his amber eyes gazing out into the forest. "It's so big out here!"

Frostkit had climbed up beside him, sniffing the air. "Yea. There's a lot to explore!" Her ears twitched.

They had explored deeper, the sun being up above now, melting the snow slowly. Tigerkit motioned for Frostkit to stop, crouching down. A large dog like animal with orange fur, black paws, and a white tipped tail was carrying a rabbit in its jaws.

"What is it? It looks like a dog but smells like a cat." Frostkit wrinkled her nose, not enjoying the scent it gave off.

"I think it's a fox! Look! There's Bluefur and a patrol!" Tigerkit squealed happily as he saw the blue furred cat hiding in the bushes with three other cats flocking behind her.

The fox had caught their scent, laying its ears back and snarling. Its fur stood on end as the fox circled the bush that the kits were in. Tigerkit was itching with excitement. The tabby let out a tiny yowl, leaping out of the bushes, puffing up to look big. The fox dove forwards but another ball of fur had distracted the large animal. The fox charged after the fleeing Frostkit, the kit slipping on the snow. The kit was winded, the fox snarling at the tortoiseshell kit. As Bluefur led Tigerkit to Robinwing, she gave the signal to attack the fox. The fox turned as it was about to strike, one of its back paws tearing off the left side of the poor kit's face.

Tigerkit ran to his sister, the patrol chasing the animal away. Frostkit lay there bleeding out, her face looking as if she had been in a fight with another cat.

"Robinwing. Take Tigerkit ahead back to the camp." Bluefur blinked at the she-cat. The cat bowed her head and picked up the tabby kit by the scruff into her jaws. "Thistleclaw, help me with her."

The large warrior huffed angrily, padding over to the injured kit. "What do you need." He glared at the blue she-cat.

"Cobwebs. It'll stop the bleeding." The blue cat gave the same look back, the large spike furred cat rolling his eyes and padding off into the woods. Bluefur curled up next to Frostkit, licking her to keep her warm. "You'll be ok. I promise."
