I sigh as I look up at the bouncy girl escorting is into her home. I look at my two best friends telling stories about our hometown and realise that I'll never be as outgoing as them. I've never been extroverted, I'd rather keep to myself than to let others see my weaknesses, my interests, my feelings. I know Venus and Sheila struggle, and perhaps it's selfish of me to expect them to understand, but I know they try and that's what matters.

The golden tousled hair of the girl seems to have a life of it's own, vibrating and glinting in the sun. I look away as I can feel a blush creep in. What am I even thinking, a girl, interested me? I snort and see the three turn around to face me.
"What's so funny?" Venus raises an eyebrow. I can tell she's annoyed at the girl but also wants us to be nice.
"Nothing, had something in my nose, that's all"
I respond and immediately face palm inwardly.
The girl giggles. I can feel myself turning red and take my phone out to stop her from seeing my face. Lately I've been having moments like these, in which I feel myself being ridiculous and tell myself to stop. I can't really tell the girls about these feelings since they won't understand.
"I dibs top bunk!" Venus yells and runs in. Being around Venus is like being around a five year old, she may be a great friend but when it comes to her maturity, she leaves a lot to be desired.
A sudden shriek splits the air, Sheila has collapsed onto the floor in tears. She's spotted a roach on the bed.
"Oh I'm so sorry Riko!" Venus runs to Sheila and tries to calm her down.
I look at Riko who is looking down at her feet. I want so badly to comfort her and tell her it's okay but I can't risk showing vulnerability so I quietly walk over to Sheila and Venus.
