"Are you game?"

"...yeah."

A devilish smirk plastered across his face. I gave a slight smile, reassuring him that I'm all in. To be honest, I wasn't all that excited to take part in whatever's happening tomorrow. In fact, I wasn't ready to take any part in it at all! But I can't live under his rules forever. I have to show him who's boss around here, and that I'm capable in doing whatever he had planned.

He took a step forward, making me feel small. "Then meet me at 9pm at the--"

"The usual place." I cut him off. I could see how impressed he was, even though I wasn't. Having to go to that place reminds me of unpleasant memories that I do not want to bring back.

He reached out his hand in order to give a handshake, but my body won't seem to move at my command. I was frozen in place, but I found the courage to reach out my hand as well. My hands were shaking, but I somehow managed to give a pleasant handshake.

He was eyeing me like he was the predator and I'm the prey. I could literally hear the words he was trying to communicate through his eyes..

"Do not cross the line, or bad things might happen."

I gulped, not wanting to reply back. He turned on his heels and started to walk into the shadows, but stopped halfway and took a glance at me. "I'll be looking forward to it.... Aether."

I looked down at the ground where I was still stranded. "Me too," I muttered, knowing that only I was able to here my pitiful reply. A tear drop rolled down my face and onto the bare surface, but I got hold of myself before I could break into a mess.

I slowly lifted my head, but all I could see were the dark, and gloomy shadows ahead.

He's gone.

There's no turning back now.
