Mami was standing with her head ducked down receiving the worst humiliation of her life . Kawu Gidado was flashing his words to her sternly with self assured.
"Aidah who are the heirs of this house?". He asked in need of answer but a single word didn't slipped out of Mami's tongue talk no more of replying to his question.

"Is it not I and Ahmadu?" He asked again this time around without anticipating an answer because since when he started his humiliation which was from generation to generation Mami didn't utter a word.

"So, for your own information, I'm selling out my share_ heirloom. I can't leave you to enjoy my property after you declined my offer. And that daughter of yours should find a new family since she's not ready to live with us, or she should bear or claim your family as hers even though we don't know them I'm contemplating whether you have any. Lastly, even when it's time for her marriage don't come to me, I have daughters too, I can't spend a single Kobo on her, she should find her waliy out there, done and dusted". He said turning to walked away when their eyes met.

"Oh that's good you heard what I said right?" He asked with a mischievous smile on his face.
Yummah glared at him before she started her own
"You need a round of applause the great and best Uncle ever, you thought all this your drama will make the courageous and virtuous woman ever to be scare or beg you for a favour, if it's that you are wonderfully wrong.
And I didn't take you as a family too. She is my family, happiness and life even, so Gidado...".

"Enough! Enough Yummah he is your uncle and you can't change the fact that he is your uncle also you don't have the right to bicker or portray your feisty version to him he is still your uncle and will be forever so watch your mouth. And Gidado thank you for the notice". Mami said while walking back to the living room hurriedly for show with tears cascading from her eyes which were misty since when she began talking.
Yummah ran to her without talking a single glance at him. Mami was sitting at the edge of the bed crying so hard that her shoulder shook simultaneously.

Yummah stood by the door tears cascading from her eyes which almost multiplied Atlantic ocean, she hates it with all her heart when she saw her only source of happiness shedding tears, she felt guilty and discouraged, she felt her heart pounding and tumbling striving to shattered into her stomach, she felt a gulp that stayed in between her throat which banned her from inviting her salty saliva down to her dried throat that was as dried as Sahara. She dragged her foots which she felt like a toddler who was striving to be in his mother's arms by any chance.
"Mamiii..." She summoned with her cranky voice. Mami raised her head and at the same time wiping away her tears in hurry because she didn't want Yummah to see her tears, she didn't want her daughter to see her weakness in any way, but it was too late to pretend.
"Mami, why did we deserve such a life? Are they not our family? ... No, they don't worth it " Yummah said shaking her head continuously wiping away Mami's tears with the hem of her hijab.
"Mami, they don't worth it huh? We can live our lives without them". Yummah asked staring at Mami's face which was embellished with brand new sorrowful tears.
Mami engulfed her into a soothing coll, they soaked their shoulders with tears and exchanged their misery through that hug. Mami was the first to parted from the hug before she added with "it's time for prayer Yummah we should not miss the congregation. They performed their prayer before Yummah started preparing their lunch.
Mami was trying her all best to hide her frets from Yummah which was the cause to her problems. Mami_ Aidah Embrahimoo Yonas was Mami's full name, she was from Ethiopia, Dire Dawa city, Habesha by tribe. She was the one and only daughter of Embrahimoo Yonas and Asma Embrahimoo Yonas, they were a happy family before she fall in love with a man from another country an outsider. She was eighteen years when they met with Ahmad a complete Fulani man from northern Nigeria. That was odd in their family albeit they had countable number of peoples to summoned family, she had an old paternal grandmother, father, mother and an uncle. Her Dad loved her more than anything in this world but she waived the love for the sake of love. At first when she informed her parents about Ahmad they laughed and addressed her decision as a sikky thought because they saw her as a child and she will always be as they said, but when things began getting out of hand, then everything changed, Mami fell for lovesickness but all in vain her Dad refused to accept her offer of giving her to the man that they don't know and they don't care to know. After what seemed to be the third world war Uncle Majid tried all his best by preaching, pleading and portraying the disadvantages of  a forceful marriage
, Her Dad succefully accepted the marriage but with conditions which Mami accepted without thinking twice because her eyes were closed with webs of love. He handed Mami to Ahmad and informed her to never step her foots into his house with the name of a divorcee, she should go and live with her husband if he adored he can peeled off her skin he don't care infact he relinquished her as his daughter.
Uncle Majid felt bad but he wanted his daughter to be happy, and that word 'happy' can't exists  in her life without Ahmad. He saw her as Sabra his own daughter. Uncle Majid has two children Sabra and Aaron, with his wife Faìzah .He vowed to take her as his own daughter, and made sure her Dad withdraw his statements. After the Nikah he saw them off down to Nigeria before he left back to Ethiopia.
Ahmad's family pondered about his marriage without informing anyone from his family, even though they wanted him to be married for the last five years, and the worst part of it the bride was not from their tribe, and country. His father welcomed Mami with open arms he was fully satisfied with Uncle Majid's explanations and he vowed to take care of her as his own daughter. Ahmad was the first son of Mamman Turaki, he has a brother Gidado Maman Turaki, since their childhood Ahmad wanted to study deep and be a great business man but Gidado didn't bothered to be educated all he knew was looking after their cattles and farm. When Ahmad had his diploma in business administration Gidado had abandoned his school already married with two kids .
He married a young Fulani girl from their village that was Karaye. From that time Ahmad's parents began to disturb him about marriage. So, he exported and imported goods from one states to another and nearby African countries,so he went to Ethiopia for business and came back with a wife, so strange.
