Chapter Twenty-two:
( J E A L O U S Y )
"You've really got to stop selling your products to first years." Artemis said to Fred who was laying on her lap, her eyes focused on her book. They were in her dorm— a separate dorm that she got all to herself perks of being the Head Girl. Apart from Cedric who shared a room to herright, with him being the Head Boy but he didn't mind Fred being over.
"Why, I would never do such thing!" He said placing his hand over his chest feigning being hurt. She looked away from her book to glare at him but ended up smiling at him.
They did this a lot. Him just laying in her lap, with her running her hands through his hair as she studied, both of them enveloped with a comfortable silence. They couldn't go around holding hands or even be together as often as they used to because of the pink toad's rules of separating couples. She tried to give Ginny detention once because she was holding onto Ron's arm, only to be let down when she found they were siblings.
"Hogwarts could do a with laugh or two. It's like the life's been sucked out of it after the arrival of your's truly." He huffed reaching out to hold her hand that was running through his hair.
"Just a little less than a year and then we're free." Artemis said putting down her book.
"I don't know, A." He said.
"What do you mean, Freddie?" Artemis asked confused.
"I don't know if I want to continue this."
"Are you breaking up with me?" Artemis asked.
"What? No! What the hell! Where'd you get that from?!" He said sitting up.
"You were the one that said you didn't want to continue this!" She exclaimed turning pink.
"Geez woman, I was talking about school, not you, never you." He said looking into her eyes.
"Oh." Artemis said looking down.
"George and I are thinking of leaving school early." He said finally as she looked up. His eyes taking in her expressions carefully. The dark haired witch didn't let her dread show on her face.
"You mean you're going to drop out?" She asked carefully still keeping a shutter on her emotions.
"Yes." Her heart fell to a pit. "Harry's given us his prize money from the tournament. Neither Cedric nor him wanted that money so he kind of thrust it upon us. We're going to open a joke shop somewhere in Diagon Alley. It's always been our dream, A and it's finally coming true." How could I bring myself to be angry at him for leaving? Leaving me behind when his eyes glow so brightly talking about his shop. His dream. Something he's wanted since he was a kid and it's finally coming true.
