"MAN, I haven't seen a sunrise like this in years," Eren murmured to himself, silently watching the sky be bathed in miraculous shades of pinks and yellows on the rooftop of his small living space. It was early on a august Thursday morning, the only sounds filling Eren's ears were the slight rustling of nearby trees as they shook in the wind, and small chirps from birds that had only just awakened, like him.

Eren had only one thing he planned to do that day, and it was to go on a food run.

He was running low, and he didn't feel like starving to death any time soon.

'But then again,' he thought, 'I don't feel like dying at the hands of undead creatures, either.'

Eren sighed as the bright, yellow sun started to rise in the sky, slowly but surely eradicating all the pastel colors that painted the skies above him. Having decided that he'd rather get the run done within the next hour, Eren jumped from the roof he sat on and walked around to the front of the cabin that he had claimed as his own, opening the large, creaking door and making his way inside.

Eren made sure to always keep the lights off so as to not attract any attention, but he did have a lantern with him and plenty of fuel just in case.

Heading down the hall to the left of the front door, he made sure nothing had managed to break in and steal anything, all while continuing his quest to his bedroom. Eren knew he would have heard something if that was the case, but never being too careful was something he had picked up on as he survived the apocalypse.

Unlocking his bedroom door, he walked in and went straight for his closet. Rummaging in the small dresser that took up about 50% of the space inside of the closet, he searched for the weapons he planned on using for the trip.

He found his trusty shotgun in the bottom drawer, of which he always strapped to his back whenever he travelled, and put it there just like all the other times, two pistols in the drawer above the one his shotgun was held in, and put them in their respective holsters at his hips, only to move onto shoes and masks lastly.

He always made sure to wear a special kind of boots that were good for running and kicking the shit out of zombies, and always wore a covering over his mouth so he never got hindered by any kinds of gases on his runs. His eyes landed on his favorite combat boots that were still in impeccable condition, of which were black and leather, fairly simple, but the heels and toes of the shoes were pure steel, so it was nice to wear them if he ever got in an...predicament. He also just went with wearing a simple grey bandana around his mouth, almost like those cheesy villains in bad cowboy or mid-weastern movies.

His usual attire was a white T-shirt and a matching grey leather jacket, torn black jeans, and his equipment, boots, and mouth coverings always being put on last.

After making sure he was ready to go, Eren took one last glance at his room, knowing it could very well be his last time seeing it, before walking out and locking the door behind him. He never left his bedroom unlocked, since there was always a possibility someone could break in and steal his shit.

He left the cabin, also locking the main entrance up, with his head held high, and his expectations pushed down low to the ground. Amongst the vast amounts of knowledge he'd acquired from his experiences, having low hopes and expectations was, in any case, a wise decision that he's made for years.

The cabin he had taken the liberty of holing up inside of was deep in the forest, far away from the busy city and all forms of civilization. The denser the wood, the less likely you'll come across a group of thousands and thousands of people-eating monsters slowly wandering about mindlessly, he had discovered. Eren knew what quiet pathways to take in order to avoid confrontation as much as feasible, as well.
