Beatrice's POV:

Once Matt left my house, I couldn't stop thinking about him. It's like the old Matt came back. The one that was my best friend. Even though I still don't trust him 100%, I will admit, it was nice having Matt around. My train of thought was interrupted by my phone going off. I looked at my phone to see that Maria texted me asking me if I wanted to hang out at the park today. I texted her back that I'll meet her at the park at 10. I went into my room and changed into a t-shirt, leggings, and red converse. I went into the bathroom and brushed my teeth and my hair. Once I was ready for the day, I looked at the time to see it says 9:30. I decided to start walking to the park because I needed to get out of the house. I walk out of my house and lock my door. Once my door is locked, I start walking towards the park to meet Maria.

As I'm walking to the park, I feel like someone is watching me. I look around to see two guys in masks watching me. One guy had a blue mask with a white 3 and a yellow butterfly on his mask. The other guy had an all-black mask with a small FM on the side of the mask. The guy in the blue mask tilts his head slightly so that it kind of reminds me of a child, looking confused. I look straight and continue walking to the park but I pick up my pace. Once I get to the park, I see Maria sitting on one of the benches. I walk up to her and she sees me. Maria got up from the bench and gave me a hug. "Hey, Bea. What's up?" Maria asks me. I reply, "Nothing much but it's been a weird couple days." Maria asks while looking confused, "How so?" I say, "Well, these past days, Matt has been nice to me. It gets weirder, he kissed me." Maria says, "Maybe he feels bad for bullying you for a long time and maybe he's trying to be nice. You should give him a chance and who knows, maybe you guys will be friends again." I reply to her statement and say, "Maybe. It was nice having the old Matt back though."

*Timeskip*

As we kept talking, Maria looked at her phone to see that her parents want her home. "I've got to go. It was nice talking to you. Maybe we can hang out again sometime." Maria says. I gave her a hug and said, "It was nice hanging out with you too and maybe. Love ya as a sister." "Love ya too as a sister. Bye." Maria says as she walks away. I stayed at the park because there was barely anyone at the park and I needed some time to think. "Maybe I should give him a chance." My train of thought was interrupted by someone asking, "Is this seat taken?" I looked up to see that it was the guy in the gas mask. "No, go ahead." I say as I scoot away to make room for the gas-masked guy to sit down. The gas-masked guy sits down on the bench and I ask, "Why were you watching me the other day?" The guy in the gas mask looks at me and says, "No reason." I looked away and I could hear the guy chuckle. "What's your name?" The gas mask guy askes. "My name is Beatrice." I tell him. "Nice name." The guy says. I then ask, "What's your name?" The gas mask guy tenses up and then says, "I rather not tell you because of who we are, but you can call me J." "Well, nice to meet you, J." I say while I smile at him. I hear him laugh and say, "You remind me of my sister. You have the same smile as her and the same innocence as her." I look at him and say, "What was her name?" "Her name was Rizz. She was my best friend growing up." I then ask J, "Where is she now?" J looked at me and said, "She passed away a couple of years ago." I felt immediately bad and I regret bringing it up. "I'm sorry." I say to J. J then says, "It's fine. She's in a better place. And before you say that you're sorry for asking, you didn't know so it's not your fault."

As we continued to talk, I noticed that it was getting dark. J then said, "It's getting late, I'll walk you to your house." I then told J, "You don't have to." J shook his head then said, "I don't have to, but I want to." I knew it was pointless to argue with him so I just let him walk me to my house. We got up off of the benches and started walking to my house. As we were walking to my house, we kept talking about anything we could. Turns out, J and I have a lot in common. We both love horror movies, almost have the same tastes in music, we both can play the guitar. I told him that I can play the drums and he said he has a friend that also plays the drums. As we got to my house, I unlocked the door, turned around towards J, and said, "Thank you for hanging out with me and walking me home." J then says, "No problem Beatrice. See you later." Then J walks away. I walked into my house and I was too tired to walk upstairs to my room so I walked over to the couch and passed out on the couch.
