Maddie looks at the rose that was taped on her mirror. She looked back at her bed and shoved Justin off of it.

"Come on, sleepy head. We need to be ready before Zach gets here to pick us up." She said as she opened her window.

"Five more minutes, please. It was just getting good." He mumbles as he covers himself with her blanket.

She sighs and shakes her head as she tries to tug on the blanket. "Why do you always have to be this stubborn like this morning to me?"

He looks up at her and rubs his eyes. "I don't know. Why do you let me stay here every night then?"

"Because I can never say no to those puppy dog eyes of yours and you know that and use that against me." She throws his shirt at his face. "Just come down stairs when you're changed."

Maddie walks down stairs as she puts on her varsity jacket when her brother, Gavin, looks up from his breakfast. "Aren't you gonna eat?"

"It's fine, Gav. Jess is gonna get me and Justin something to eat from Monet's so we'll be fine."

"And you trust whatever she's gonna bring you is something you'll actually eat?"

She folded her arms. "I trust whatever she brings me more than your burnt waffles that's for sure."

"They aren't burnt, they're just..." He looked down at the waffles that looked like black crisps. "Over cooked is all."

She rolled her eyes and pats him on the back. "Yeah whatever you want to tell yourself."

He pushed her on the forehead so she was out of his bubble. "Well, have fun with you boyfriend, Maddie."

"Jealousy isn't a good look on you, Gavin." She said to her brother before she got in the back of Zach's car and snuggled into Justin.

"Oh come on please don't do anything in the car of all places."

Justin smirks and leans forward so he was closer to Zach. "What do you want to join us, Dempsey?"

She pulls him back. "No, I don't want to have to share you with him."

He puts his arm around her. "Sorry Zach but you heard the lady."

"Are you two really gonna let me listen to you two."

"Then turn up the radio. I don't care. That's not my problem."

"Get out of the car before you stain it."

"Aww did you really think we were gonna do something?"

"Well I didn't want to look back to check that's for sure."

Bryce came from behind, getting in between the two and put his arms around Justin and Maddie. "If it isn't Liberty High's favorite it couple."

"Can you not Bryce." She says as she walks away from him.

Monty appeared out of nowhere placing his head on her shoulder. "Do I sense some threesome energy here or is it just me?"

She pushes his head out of her face. "Oh shut up Monty. No one asked you."

"What I'm just saying, what I see. Is that so wrong princess?"

She froze in place. She hadn't been called that in months. It honestly felt foren to her. It also didn't help out of everyone it was Monty who said it. At least if Justin had called her that she could just smile and nod.

"Maddie?" Justin looked at her and held her.

"Hmm?" She looks around noticing the once busy hallway only had them. "Sorry. I must have zoned out I guess."

Maddie looks up at Justin as she watches Clay stare at Hannah's locker. She gripped his hand so he would stay with her but he shook her grip.

Justin walked up to Clay. "What the hell are you doing?"

"Nothing. I'm just... Uh." He glances at Maddie then Hannah's locker before looking back down at the ground.

"Looking for something?" He asked.

Clay tilted his head. "What would I be looking for?"

Justin took a step closer to him. "You tell me."

"Do... Do you even know my name?"

Justin scoffs. "Of course I do Clay. How could I forget the name that-."

Maddie walked in between the two mainly looking at Justin. "Guys do we have to fight right now."

Justin puts and harm around her and pulls her away from Clay. "Why are you acting like he didn't stop talking to you after-"

Clay looks at Maddie. "Is that really what you told him?"

"Justin you know it was a lot more complicated than that."

He holds onto her tighter than before. "Was it?"

Mr Porter started walking toward the three teens. "Second bell, guys. Come on."

Justin turns back to Clay. "You're not that innocent, Jensen. I don't give a shit what she says."

She elbows him. "What do you mean you don't care what I say?"

He looks down at her. "That's not what I meant."

She scratches her arm. "Oh..."

"Mr Foley, let's go. Get to homeroom."

"Have fun with your ex best friend."

"J." She calls out but she just watches Justin walk away. "I'm sorry for what he said. He's been really... On edge lately."

"Yeah I bet he definitely had a reason that he looked like he was gonna punch me in the face."

She rolled her eyes. "You're overreacting. He wouldn't have done that Clay."

"Why because you were here to stop him?"

"That's not what I-"

"Are you okay, Mad?"

Porter got in between them. "You too Miss and Mr Jensen."

"Ya know what, Clay. Fuck you. I dont need your stupid handouts anymore." She said as she threw it away before he left to get to his class.

"Miss Abram Unless you want to come to my office for a little chat?"

"Oh so you can listen to me better this time?" She mumbled to herself as she walks away from Mr. Porter and Clay.
