Tony, Nat, Steve, Clint, and Thor were tearing through London, trying to find Loki before Fury killed them all. They were going in every shop, sweeping through the streets, peering through the windows of every restaurant and cafe, and they had zero luck.
"He couldn't have gone far!"
"He's Loki, he could be anywhere. Run faster."
"Natasha, you're trained for this, what do you see?"
"Right now? Nothing. In the future? A very angry Nick Fury."
Tony sighed. "You're not helping. Thor, what did you mean when you said he could be literally anywhere?"
Thor, in a deadly serious voice said, "He's a master of mischief and trickery. He is the king of lies and deception. He can hide in plain sight if you're lucky. If you're not, he'll be invisible."
"Okay, but that's normal Loki. Right now, he's not normal," Tony said. "We're standing here in the middle of London, frantically looking around like lost tourists. We need something to go on."
At that moment, Steve's phone rang.
"Who is it?" Natasha asked.
"Uh, Fury," Steve said, with a panicked look on his face.
"Answer it!" Natasha exclaimed.
"How the heck do you answer this thing?" Steve said, frustrated, fumbling around with the phone.
"It's two buttons," Tony said. "It's not that difficult."
"Here, let me have it," Thor said, and pressed the decline button. "No, that's...that's not what I meant to do."
Tony frantically pointed at the phone. "Uh-did you just ghost Nick Fury?"
"What does that mean?" Steve and Thor said simultaneously.
"Peter ghosted him once," Tony said. "It didn't go over well. You're in for it."
"Guys, look!" Natasha said. They all looked where she was pointing. There, stumbling out of a clothing store was Loki. Natasha covered her mouth with her hand to suppress a laugh. Loki was wearing three hats. A black bowler hat on the bottom, a yellow, floppy sun hat in the middle, and a fancy magenta hat on top, with a giant pink feather coming out of it. He was wearing two shirts, a gray coat, and a clear poncho over that, though it wasn't raining anywhere. He had on black pants, with green shorts over those, and even shorter purple shorts over those. (Author note, I have to draw this 😂. And if any of you want to, PLEASE show it to me)
Tony, Thor, Nat, Steve, and Clint ran to him quickly. "Loki! There you are, where have you been?" Thor asked.
"Shopping brother!" Loki proudly exclaimed, while he stumbled around like a drunk Jack Sparrow.
"You look ridiculous," Thor said.
"Thank you," Loki replied.
"How did you get out of that room?" Tony asked.
"WAIT!" Loki, exclaimed and looked off in the distance. "DEJA-VU! Has one of you asked me that recently?"
"Yes, this morning," Thor said.
"That's it! Now what was it you were saying?" Loki turned back to Tony.
"How. Did. You. Get. Out. Of. The. Room?" Tony asked through gritted teeth.
"Well it was quite unusual actually. I doubt you would believe me."
"Try me," Tony asked, in his "all-games-aside-talk-now-or-I-blow-your-brains-out™️ Voice.
"Well there was this blue cube in the room, and it was glowing," Loki started. Natasha flinched. Loki continued. "And when I touched it, this portal formed behind me, and I was sucked here."
"Yes," Thor said. "And where is the Tesseract now?"
"Tesseract? I thought that was food?" Loki said.
"No, you wanted it to be food," Thor said absentmindedly looking off in the distance. "Where is the blue cube?"
"Oh I gave it to some random guy," Loki said waving his hand in a vague direction.
Tony groaned, and put his face in his hands. Natasha sighed.
"Quick question," Loki said.
"Do enlighten us," Tony mumbled from his hands.
"Why has she been waving her hands around this whole time?" Loki asked gesturing to Natasha, who had been signing to Clint.
No one bothered answering. "Well, we better start trying to find the Tesseract," Tony sighed. "Do you remember what the guy looked like?"
"Well, he was bald," Loki said, matter-of-factley.
"Okay, and...?" Tony said.
"Well, he had an eye patch, and he was wearing a long black coat," Loki said.
"Heck," Tony said.
"I'M SUPPOSED TO BE ABLE TO TRUST THE PEOPLE THAT I'VE CHOSEN TO HELP SAVE THE WORLD," a booming, familiar voice yelled from behind him.
Tony groaned, and turned around. There was Nick Fury, holding the Tesseract in one hand, and his phone in the other.
"YOU HAD ONE JOB. LOOK AFTER LOKI," Nick yelled.
"Actually we had two jobs," Tony said. "Look after Loki and find Strange."
"Are you talking back to me?" Nick said in his dangerous voice.
"God. No," Tony said.
"YOU LET A KNOWN CRIMINAL FROM OUTER SPACE STEAL THE TESSERACT, NOT TO MENTION MANY ITEMS FROM A CLOTHING STORE, ALMOST LOSE SAID TESSERACT, AND..." Nick said with a deadly glare, "you ghosted me?"
Pause.
"Yeeeep, all checks out," Tony said.
"And Thor didn't mean to ghost you," Natasha added.
"What?" Thor said, panicked. "I did no such thing. It was Steve's phone, eh—therefore Steve ghosted him!"
"What!?" Steve said. "YOU declined the call!"
"ENOUGH," Nick yelled. "ALL OF YOU IN THAT HELICOPTER NOW."
On cue, a helicopter flew down and landed in the middle of the street. As one could imagine, people were staring.
They all sighed, and made their way to the helicopter. As Thor walked past Fury, and Fury put his hand up, signaling for him to stop. Thor stopped, and looked at him quizzically. Looking straight ahead, Fury pulled out a set of handcuffs and a muzzle, and plopped them into Thor's hands. Thor slapped the muzzle on Loki's mouth.
"Mmmrf," Loki said, offended. Thor ignored him, and quickly cuffed his hands.
"Whumf whas thught fur?" Loki mumbled.
"Shut up," Thor said, and dragged him toward the helicopter. Loki grumbled behind him. They all boarded the helicopter, Nick glaring at them all the while, and flew back to the main helicarrier. Next stop, Doctor Strange.
