Chapter Twenty

Hey! A few things(:

1. If you haven't read @TakeUs2OneDirection's update for Rush, her and I wanted to do a YouNow either Tuesday or Wednesday. I've never done one, and I think it'd be pretty fun! So, if I get enough people who say they'd like to watch, I'll update again sometime this Satuday-Monday with details on times and time zones and such. Thank you!! (also read her book haha)

2. I changed up my cast a little bit. Andria is now played by Jenn Proske (I'm aware she's older than 18 in real life, but she looks so young so whatever) Gale is played by Dylan Schmid (the actor who played teenage Baelfire in Once Upon a Time) and Chester is played by Mason Dye (bce he's hot af). In case you were curious!

3. I think it would be cool if every 10 chapters I gave a shout out, since I'm asking so much to give shout outs. So, in order to be given the next shout out (which will happen Chapter 30) you need to:

-be following me

-someone I feel is an active reader, voter, and commenter

-has gone out of their way to make me feel like i love what i do!

4. Also, I designed my own dream shade plant. So don't get mad at me because it isn't a bundle of thorns like it is in the show. Thanks !!

5. P.S., a merry christmas to all of you!! I thought about each and every one of you hooligans. Thank you so much for the christmas wishes, the FULLLL inbox, the snapchats, Instagram DMs, kiks, etc. I love you all so much tbh idk what i'd do if i didn't join wattpad. i've made some amazing friends.

Chapter Twenty

The door to my hut squeaked open, the bottom rasping along the wood, a white sliver of sunlight flickering inside like the revelation of a something glistering behind the veil, throwing an uncannily sinister silhouette onto the floor.

"Andria," a voice called into the gloom, reverberating off the timber walls.

I turned my head into the pillow, still, so still I could hear blood sweeping through the veins in my ear, hoping whomever in the doorway reckoned I was merely sleeping.

"I know you're awake."

I grimaced and rolled over, my quilt crunching freshly beneath me. The shadow belonged to Gale, who was standing in the entryway, hand clasping the pewter door knob, his thumb skittishly swiveling along.

"Hi," I croaked, the absence of sound now imbuing with the swoosh of my quilt as I shifted onto my back. I was relieved it wasn't Oliver, or, worse.

"I heard about training today," Gale said, crossing the hut and closing the distance, his boots harmonizing with the woodwork, slowly, in adagio, until he was squatting onto the edge of my bed, the mattress sinking with his weight. "The lost boys are buzzing with Oliver's story."

"Oh," I grumbled.

"Don't let his words get inside of you. He's just a..." He pondered, as if it was right to say, "he's just a dick. Nothing that comes from his mouth is helpful."
