"Okay, well I think it's time for us to head back to our chambers for the night guys," the king says, standing up and pushing in his chair.

As if on cue, Genevieve, Laiken, and a few other servants rush in and begin clearing the dishes off of the table.
Genevieve scurries over to me, bowing.
"(Y/N), I can accompany you to your chambers if you'd like?" she offers.
Prince Axel butts in. "Actually, I think I got it from here. You can continue cleaning."
"Yes, your highness."

I follow the actions of the King, standing up and pushing in my chair.

"Come along, Y/N," Axel says, smiling. "We have many things to discuss."

We walk through the halls, making our way to my chambers. Silence ensues for a while until I decide to speak up.

"Excuse me if I am speaking out of term, Your Highness," I question. "But, why did you lie to me when we were on the train?"

A slow smirk creeps across his face. Then, he shrugs. "I thought it would be funny. I mean, who would think that you're badmouthing the country to the heir of said country. It's not something you see too often, no? I mean, I could literally have you executed right now."

I feel my whole body tense up as he said that.
He chuckles. "But I won't. I mean, it takes forever to find good help. And to find someone with your credentials? Probably an entire lifetime."

"Oh," I relax. "I want to apologize for what I said on the train. I have no clue how to run a country, so I can't judge how you run yours."

"Nonsense," he breathes. "I like people that can speak their mind. If I asked anyone in this castle a question right now, they'd respond with what they think I want to hear, not their actual thoughts."

I laugh. " I mean, yes, you could have them executed, so it makes sense."

"You know what, you're right. Maybe I should work on that."

We both chuckle. I stare at him a little longer. Sparkling, pearly white moonlight seeps in through the floor to ceiling windows in the halls, illuminating his face. His blonde hair shimmers, and his green eyes seem to glow.

"Something on my face?" He asks, turning his head and looking down at me as we walk.

"No nothing like that. Yes, your hair color is nice." I stutter, and feel my cheeks turn warm.

Finally, we reach my room. " Thank you for ensuring my safety by walking me to my chambers."

He nods. "Of course, no problem. Also, Count Erea will be here at seven AM to deliver the itinerary for the week."

"Oh, alright. Thank you for letting me know, Prince Axel." I bow.

Before closing the door, I say it loud enough for him to hear. " Or should I say Aaron?"

I hear a soft chuckle from outside my door, before soft shuffling in the opposite direction.

After, getting undressed, I plop on the bed, arms and legs outstretched.

Maybe... Maybe he's not as bad as everyone says he is.
