Waiting for Chris was agonising. Lola chewed on her fingernails, feeling like time was against her. Was she anxious for Chris returning? Or, was she nervous of Josh not coming back? She had felt the closest to Josh, he knew everything about her — including all of her flaws. And Josh didn't care for how bad Lola's flaws were, he would always protect her.Lola looked over at Mike, who was pacing the room, "I should've gone with him." Lola was sure Josh didn't want to see Chris' face after what they did to him. Tying him up and locking him in the shed. The night was cold. . . Too cold for Josh to function, especially when he was off of his medication. Mike looked over at Lola before shaking his head: "I'm not going to lose you to those things!"
Suddenly, the basement door opened before Ashley and Chris walked in, looking extremely traumatised to what he had seen out there. "Oh, my God! Guys, what took you so long?" Emily asked, her tone laced with worry. Chris looked at her before shaking his head, "It's not so good up there, right now."
"Understatement of the night."
Lola scanned her surroundings before noticing the Flamethrower guy hadn't returned. A chilling feeing crawled across Lola, he seemed like the only one who knew how to survive these Wendigos, and now they had lost him. "Where's the Flamethrower guy?" Asked Sam as she broke the silence that crowded the basement. Lola's mouth closed after Sam asked the question she was going to. "Yeah — that thing tore him apart. Right in front of me," Chris explained, his voice breaking as his body trembled whilst he remembered the sight of the guy dying.
"Oh, Chris. . ." Whispered Lola as she hugged into his side for his comfort. He looked down at her and tried to offer her a smile but Lola could see the pain within his eyes. She was glad Mike didn't allow her to go out there, to face those things in personal.
That was when she noticed Josh hadn't returned. Was he dead?
She wasn't going to question him. Chris deserved a break from what he had witnessed.
