"I was not prepared for how ugly thay thing would be up close!" Admitted Sam, her body was shivering at the thought of being personal with another Wendigo. She laughed at Sam's comment before nodding in agreement, she also couldn't believe how freakish they were. "I noticed something weird about it," Mike said, looking confused at the two girls before him."What?" Sam asked. To Lola, it looked like any other Wendigo she had seen. What was so different about this one? Mike shook his head, in disbelief: "It had a scar. I've seen it before. I saw these old pictures of some guy with that scar, he was... transforming into a Wendigo. It was one of the miners who'd been trapped back in the '50s, in the cave-in. Which means that thing is like eighty-years-old, at least!" Explained Mike before Lola looked down at the scar covering the Wendigo's face.
He was right.
"Spunky for an old-timer," Sam joked. "They cleaned the place out. Killed a lot of people," Mike told Sam.
"They? You mean, there are more of them?" Sam asked. "Oh yeah," Mike replied. "How many?" Sam asked. "Too many," Lola told her before they continued walking.
"I think we're close, to the lair," Sam said, Lola looked around at the cave and found some sort of warmth, well better warmth than anywhere else she had been. "How can you tell?" Mike asked. "I don't know, I just, feel really terrible all of a sudden," she replied.
They all sat on the edge of the rock until Mike jumped into the water. "It's okay," he told them. "You sure?" Sam asked. "I'm not dead yet," Mike replied. "Famous last words," Sam said. Sam jumped in the water, Lola following after, almost slipping on the wet stones underneath her but Mike caught her just in time.
"Oh, God. It's freezing!" Lola shivered as she walked through the ice-cold water, feeling it hit her waist but she couldn't feel it on her legs. It numbed her legs but the adrenaline from the sanatorium pumped her her blood, keeping her moving and ready for whatever was to come.
"Wait, I thought you reached the deepest part!" Sam said as they reached into a deep area. The water rising up to Lola's chest. "I didn't say that I said it was okay, meaning like they're are not sharks," Mike replied. They reached an edge and jumped out onto it.
"Okay, I was a lot warmer in there," Lola said before she shook herself off. Wolfie also shaking himself off and the water from him going everywhere.
Sam reached a door, opening it or reveal a ton of water flooding from it and knocking them back down onto the floor. Lola heard Sam's raspy scream, looking down to see a head that belonged to the Flamethrower Guy, Lola yelped a little before entering the room.
Bodies dangled from the ceiling causing the three of them to shiver at the sight. "Oh, God!" Sam shouted as she stared at it. "That's disgusting," Lola said before clenching her stomach at the feeling of it bubbling into a nausea.
"Wait, wait, I think I see something," Mike said as he looked into the cracks of the wood.
"Josh!" Lola shouted before running out of the room and up to Josh, he was a little out of it but she slapped him back in. "L-Lola?" He stuttered before hugging her.
"Josh, are you okay?" She asked him before checking if he was hurt anywhere. His hand reached her hair as they hugged tighter.
"Josh, do you have the key for the cable cart?" Sam asked him. "Yeah," he said and got it out.
"See that over there, that means there's a direct way out," Sam told them. "There's no way Josh will make it up there," Mike told her.
Lola grabbed Josh's hand in comfort. "If you help me up I can go back to the others and tell them we're okay," Sam said.
"I'll go with you-"
"No, n-no. Lola stays with me," Josh said pulling Lola back a little back. "Okay, okay. I will," She told Josh before Mike helped Sam up the rock wall. "Be safe," Lola told her. "You too," she said and Mike walked away, whistling at the wolf to follow him.
Lola and Josh still held hands as they followed Mike as well.
"You didn't have to hit me before, man..." Josh said to Mike. Lola could tell her hadn't been taking his medication just by the way he talked, zoned out and walked.
"Sorry about that man, I thought you killed Jessica," Lola was still confused on if Jess was dead or not, Mike claims she was but after tonight, anything could have happened.
They walked through the cold water again before getting out they found there way back to the cabin.
"Hey, come on guys! Let me in!" Sam shouted. "Sam," Mike said and she turned around to see all four of them.
Sam picked up a rock and smashed the window to let them in.
