I walk out the front door of Lee's house, putting on the same album we were listening to indoors. I brush my hair out of my face and wish was wearing something better than the denim jacket I found underneath my bed this morning. It's pouring with rain. I don't want to have to go home today.
I get to the crossing and consider just sleeping in the park, or maybe ringing up Lee to ask if i can stay over.
My mum started drinking when I was just six. I spent a lot of time at my grandmas house, but ever since she passed away two years ago I've just had to either stick it out or find somewhere else to sleep. I have a lot of friends, and that helps if I ever need another place to stay.
