RAGER TEENAGER - ollie

Some old guy just gave us a really weird-ass look. I'm hanging out in the supermarket carpark with a bunch of my mates mucking around on our skateboards. Al brought his new portable speaker with him so we can stream the latest album by some random band he's obsessed with.

I grab the phone of him and search up one of my playlists. The first song that comes up is New Sensation by INXS. Those guys were bloody revolutionary.

I go and sit down next to Jax, who's been sitting up against that the red brick wall in front of the garden bed things. They just moved here from some place up in Queensland a few months ago; they're staying with my ex-girlfriend Sadie for the summer so it's a little awkward, but they don't really hang out with her much so our gang is pretty chill with them coming skating with us on weekends. They're fairly nice I guess. Good fashion sense. They have this really choppy, spiked hair, dyed bright green on one half and pink on the other with black stripes on the green side. It's sick.

"I like your shirt," they say, eyeing off my faded tee from the Reading + Leeds Festival in our trip to England a few years back; 2018.

"Thanks. My friend bought it for me a while ago."

"Do I know them?"

"No."

"Oh," they look somewhat upset, I assume it's because they wanted to know where to get one for themselves. "Which people played at the festival that year? Anyone good?"

"Yeah well some of it was super shit, but The Wombats played there, and so did Panic! at the Disco and Kendrick Lamar. $uicideboy$ played well too. Some of the weird emo stuff Denver listens to was there, like Waterparks and Fall Out Boy or whatever. "

"Oh cool. Is Denver the one that bought you the t-shirt?"

"Yeah, I blew most of my cash on band merch and food."
