There are a few POV changes in this chapter, and since I know some people don't like when it happens, I'm warning you about it right now. I'll try to avoid it in future, but for now, I hope you can forgive me :)

Also, sometimes I will fast forward a few weeks/months, where I think it's better to skip and talk about what happened in that time than to actually go through the months and have boring chapters. Hope you don't mind, but if you do, let me know and I will make sure to avoid doing it and will actually write out the weeks/months that I would otherwise skip.

*Eric's POV*

It has been about two months since Brittany talked to me about creating distance between Sophie and myself. It was easy until she started to ignore me herself. She even went as far as to replace me on the photography lessons which I greatly enjoyed. It was frustrating and I don't even know why. I should be glad, especially that she was making it easier for me. I enjoyed her company on the breaks and when we talked in lessons before, but now I had to completely distance myself from her. We used to show each other funny videos or pictures and share new movies and music that we found. Now it was like I did something to make her hate me and the other way around. I felt like the biggest jerk when she cried about her friend and I pretended like I had a meeting. There were a few days in the past, where I felt uncomfortable around her, but they passed quickly and I honestly felt bad for dismissing her like that, in a time of need, but I had to. I have no idea why I cared so much, probably because of how much in common we had and I was hoping that we could stay friends. The chances of that are slim right now.

I was walking to my first lesson, which was with Sophie and Ethan. I let the students in and sat at my desk. Everyone had something to do from the previous lesson, so I decided to try and talk to Sophie. "Hey." I started, to get her attention and she looked at me raising her eyebrow. At least she looked at me now, unlike a few weeks ago. "Have you seen A Quiet Place?" I asked and could see a smile forming on her face as she nodded. I smiled and started to talk to her about the movie. To my surprise she kept the conversation going by talking about a different movie which recently caught her attention. I quietly laughed when she told me how scared her friend was when they watched the new The Conjuring. We talked for about ten minutes before I told her to go back to work. It was a relief to see her smiling at me again and engaging in conversations on random topics. I was supposed to keep away from her and here I am, doing my best to get her to talk to me again. I am a bigger fool than I thought I was and if Brittany finds out about me starting the random conversations with Sophie she will not be happy. Not one bit.

*Sophie's POV*

Eric talked with me about the new horror movies and although for a second I forgot that I was supposed to ignore him, I quickly reminded myself once I got back to my work. When the lesson ended, I saw that Eric tried to say something to me but I quickly left the classroom and waited outside for Ethan to join me. "Well, he's talking to you again." He said when we started to walk down the corridor. "It doesn't matter." I said quickly and Ethan looked at me surprised. We made our way to the next lesson which was with Daniel for me and Ethan had English. It was the only time we didn't have lessons together and it was quite boring if I'm honest. Yesterday Daniel sounded throaty and had a cough, but I was hoping he was in college today. No particular reason, I just hoped he was in.

My hopes have been ruined once I saw Eric walking towards us. He opened the door to the classroom and let us in. "Daniel is ill and I have been asked to cover this lesson since my class is on a trip." He said as he sat down. I rolled my eyes and sat at my desk. I started to do the tasks that Daniel gave us last week for Microsoft Office and didn't pay attention to any of my surroundings. The second half of the tasks made no sense to me and I sat there, pretending to do the work, while I was doing nothing. "Do you need help?" I heard behind me and looked up to see Eric standing with his hands on the back of my chair. "Nope." I said quietly, hoping he would go away but he knelt on the floor next to me and looked at my screen. "Do you know how to do these exercises?" He asked looking at me and once I looked into his deep brown eyes I slowly shook my head. "Why did you say you don't need help then?" He asked but I didn't think he was actually expecting me to answer since he started to explain the tasks to me straight away.
