*Sophie's POV*

At Ethan's question, I gave him an angry look. Was he stupid? Amber asked exactly the same question and he told her how inappropriate it was to ask such things. My friend kept his gaze fixed on the teacher who was sitting next to me. "Why do you ask?" Surprised at Eric's question I now looked at him. "Just wondering." Ethan kept going and I was sure he must've hit his head somewhere today. "I'm 28." Eric said and my mouth dropped. The nine-year difference was nowhere near as bad as I thought. I was imagining him to be forty and just having a young face.

"You'll catch flies." Said the teacher and I immediately closed my mouth, realising how unappealing I probably looked. "You're way younger than I thought you were." Eric looked at Ethan and chuckled. "Thanks? Do I look that old?" Ethan shook his head also laughing. "More so the way that you behave and your interests. But then again, Sophie here likes old movies and music." My friend grinned at Eric and went back to finishing the project. I appreciated Ethan for trying to fit me into every conversation with Eric. My head, however, had some questions. Why did he tell us his age but not Amber?

"The reason why I told you and not Amber is because I didn't think she needed to know." Eric answered the questions in my head as if he could read it. "And you decided that we needed to know?" Ethan asked and silence filled the room for a minute. "I simply thought that you are the more appropriate audience out of the two to know and I have a feeling that she would somehow use my age for something." He shrugged and Ethan chuckled at his statement. "She fancies you like crazy." I didn't know whether he was talking about me or Amber but decided not to question it. Eric stayed silent and stared at the wall in front of him.

Ethan had to go to the toilet, so I was left with Eric alone. I looked at his beautiful brown eyes and noticed they were studying me. I had a sudden urge to kiss him so I tried to think about anything else. "Are you alright?" I asked and he cleared his throat taking his gaze from me. "Yes, I am. You don't need to worry about me." At his sentence, I furrowed my eyebrows. "Of course I have to. You are... My friend, and just like I worry about Ethan, I worry about you."

"Do you worry about me how you worry about Ethan?" His question stunned me and Ethan came back to the class. I didn't reply, only stared at my hands on my lap. Ten minutes later and Ethan informed us that he has one more thing done, which he will do on the next lesson and he's finished. Without saying goodbye I left the room to stand next to the stairs and wait for Ethan.

"Why did you leave like that?" My friend asked once he appeared around the corner. "I wanted to kiss him!" My whispering made Ethan laugh. "Should've done it." He kept laughing and I gave him a scolding look. "If he doesn't like someone like Amber, who has the perfect looks, do you really think he would be interested? Besides, I'm sure he has a girlfriend or a boyfriend like Brittany suggested."

"Wait, he's gay?" Said Ethan, louder than usual, which made a few people turn to look in our direction. I walked to our next class which was with William. "That's what Brittany told Ben." My whispered confession stunned my friend for a few minutes. "He doesn't look like the type... But then again, what do gay people look like? Just like everyone else most of the time." He shrugged and we entered the classroom once William opened the door. We sat at our desks.

"Maybe she lied?" The question made me look at Ethan. "What reason would she have for lying?" I asked and he immediately replied. "What reason would she have for knowing he's gay?" I guess he was somewhat right. Maybe his boss needed to know about his sexual orientation? I shrugged and went back to doing my work. "I'll ask him when..."

"You will not ask him that! It's entirely inappropriate! It's enough that you asked him about his age." I was whispering so that no one could overhear us. "Aren't you glad that you now know how old he is, though?" I didn't respond. He was right, I was glad and the fact that Eric told us and not Amber must have meant something. "Also, the blondie is clearly not his type. Have you seen how tense he gets whenever she's around and how he tries to get rid of her every time she's talking to him?" Ethan asked and this time I turned to look at him. "I do that too when he's in a room with me..."
